Just used @flippercloud.io to enable customers of @fireside.fm to opt-in to a preview of an overhauled Fireside UI after months of heads down work.
And if they aren't ready for it just yet, they can opt right back out and use the old UI while we iterate and improve based on customer feedback.
Pool. Chess. Running. You gotta stop being so good at everything!
Pretty obvious-in-hindsight hack, but after working on some larger initiatives that couldn't just be easily shipped daily, the morale boost of working on things that _can_ be shipped daily is priceless.
Finding ways to break things down in a way that they're shipped daily can work wonders.
Here are the slides from my @sfruby.com keynote today!

Spent about ~30 minutes on an annoyingly squeaky/creaky foot.
Re-did some screws with fresh Loctite. Added some teflon lubricant on the plastic bits. WD-40’d a couple of spots. Swapped out my sleeve for a new one.
Every step feels ~30% better now.
If only it was that easy for real body parts.
Perfect storm of events and timing sucked the excitement and enjoyment out of sharing for me this last year.
Really appreciate all the folks out there sharing and lighting/stoking the fire. It requires so much time and effort share your curiosity, learning, and excitement, but it’s so contagious.
Really digging what @bradfrost.com is doing with his podcast. It’s that awesome thing that I had no idea I needed. wakeupexcited.show
You write tests to catch bugs. You use feature flags to survive them in production.
Just slayed the API endpoint performance for flipper cloud. Added memcached around the adapter used to deliver gate data.
Should save me $2-3k/month.
Only because "Limpin' ain't easy" doesn't fit.
A pair of white, low-top Nike dunks. The back tabs on the shoes have been customized to replace the Nike logo with "404" for the left show and "200" for the right shoe.
Looking into some new shoes. Hashtag amputee humor.
Can totally relate on how hard to resist fun activities even when not feeling well. Hope you’re feeling better soon!
That @brilliantcrank.com is so hot right now. Love seeing his voice and perspective in my feed reader.
Keep it up, sir. You’re inspiring some of us to write and explore again.
Next Thursday, I'm excited to dive into Active Record's internals and show you what's going on in there.
Let's level you up, dispel some of the magic and have you more confident when you're using Active Record!

Definitely accurate, and, in my mind, automatically assumed/implied with any aspect of the government “saving money”.
Reducing access to help and resources that can enable people to regain mobility and control over their lives is absolutely a net negative for individuals and society.
Just another way to further diminish and marginalize yet another already disadvantaged group under the guise of saving money.
“On Friday, May 30th, the Presidential Budget eliminated funding for the National Limb Loss Resource Center for federal fiscal year 2026…”
Choosing to amputate was an incredibly difficult decision due to the lack of information and resources, but it was absolutely the right decision for me.
Earlier this year, ProPublica found that the sepsis rate in second-trimester pregnancy loss hospitalizations increased by more than 50% under Texas’ abortion ban.
Here’s how we did our analysis.

Stumbled across “azimuthal equidistant projection” maps, and they’re fascinating both from a geographic standpoint and from the way they show how looking at the same information with a different perspective/context can drastically impact how we perceive something.

Had a really fun conversation about my meandering and relatively broad career path in consulting, SaaS, writing, and all that with @jeremysmith.co and @bjessbrown.com. Hadn't ever really thought about how it all connected until they asked.
We had our final game of the season last night. Coaching has consumed every spare moment and emotion and not always been convenient or easy, but it’s enjoyable beyond belief.
Looking forward to a less hectic schedule for a while, but still going to miss it something fierce until next season.
Good morning to this man, and this man only #bbcqt
Snow report showing 17” of snow in the last 12 hours.
How it’s going right after the last two weeks had felt like Spring was already here.
And it’s wet and heavy snow with more in its way. Crummy time to be sick and struggling and miss out on a pow day.
You know that project you've been meaning to get to for months? It's a thorn in your side, but more urgent stuff keeps coming up...
I can take that off your plate.
I'm still looking to book one more client for the spring. Send me a dm and we can talk about what that'd look like.
I also wondered about that, but since it was first on the list, I just assumed there was a very good reason.
I'm on here too. (Pretty sure I wasn't on the list.)
Great post about AEA and ABA, by the way. Can only imagine the ride, but really appreciate sharing the story and what y'all have done for the community through the years. ❤️
