i've been so deep in ck3's agot conversion mod of late that for a few minutes i was convinced "the life and suffering of sir brante" wasn't a listed game because i searched for it under "ser brante" on autopilot.

I have some things to say about how things are run and @unwinnable.com let me say them!

It's an indictment and a meditation, thanks to the fine storytelling at the core of @torporgames.com.

(Also thank you to @thegladdestthing.itch.io for encouraging me a long time ago to write about Suzerain.)

I’m very bad at this game, and yet every time I play it I have a blast even if I usually die within 20 minutes. The idea of a procedurally generated open-world RPG is such a bafflingly huge concept that seems impossible to pull off, and yet Caves of Qud is exactly that. Incredible game.

whiskerwood shot into my favorites after playing for just a few hours, and it's already consumed most of my spare game time this january. it would be impressive enough as a finished game. that it's still in early access is incredible.

I could have written 10k words on this game. It's remarkable. It's everything you want and need from a city-builder, but also there's transport tycoon and sid meier's colonization stuff in there as well, and even in EA it's almost perfect

I am incredibly proud to say I got to write the OFFICIAL PREQUEL COMIC to LIFE IS STRANGE: REUNION with the amazing Claudia Leonardi on art. Writing Max and Chloe has been a genuine dream come true and I can't wait for y'all to reunite with them in March!

hey I like that we're all posting thru it but I also wanted to say, in case anybody else is feeling it, that I'm pretty scared and genuinely think that we've passed a real rubicon in the past week or so and that being at the mercy of a handful of dumbfuck lunatics really does a number on your soul.

If you ask a white person "how's it going?" And they respond with "it's going" that roughly translates to "contemplating killing myself."

Hence some of the pitfalls of writing on the Internet, highly visible in e-mail, blogs, and responses to blogs. The mechanical ease and immediacy of electronic communication are deceptive. People write hurriedly, don't reread what they wrote, misread and are misread, get into quarrels, hurl insults, and use flame-throwers because they expect their writing to be understood as if they were talking.
It's childish to assume people will understand unexpressed meanings. It's dangerous to confuse self-expression with communication.

PMG won the Knickerbocker Award for Best Games Journalism last night at the @nyvgcc.bsky.social!

It feels like we've come such a long way since we first launched this thing nearly eight years ago, but winning a journalism award at an event in NEW YORK CITY still seems totally mad to me.
