Nothing like the pleasant surprise of finding a package on the porch with a book you pre-ordered months ago. Canβt wait to read this, @keithob.bsky.social!

Happy to report that I started a new job earlier this month on the editorial team at Harvard's Faculty of Arts and Sciences. First story posted today! About AI's role in solving a thorny theoretical physics problem news.harvard.edu/gazette/stor...
He was the internet's friend, but he was mine, too.

A few photos from the celebration of his life. Incredible to learn that 97yo sculptor Nancy SchΓΆn β the artist who made the Make Way for Ducklings sculptures in the Public Garden β is designing a work of public art in tribute to Rescue! @neads-wcsd.bsky.social
Wonderful to see so many people turn out in the snow today to the @bpl.boston.gov to pay tribute to the amazing Rescue (2012-2025) β a very good dog, and my all-time favorite story subject (from 2017) www.boston.com/news/local-n...
This story is so well done β and so sad, infuriating, and affecting, for all who love The Post and for anyone who grew up so enamored with their hometown metro (be it the nationβs hometown paper or any other) that it propelled them into a career
Love this. No notes. (Well, maybe one.) βοΈβοΈποΈ
Many readers have asked how they can help support Dan McQuadeβs surviving wife and son after his death last week. Hereβs a place for they can do so, as can you. everloved.com/life-of/dan-...
My final take on the Celtics trade is that I hope for great things for Anfernee Simons the rest of his career.
And maybe that includes coming back here someday.
A screenshot of an obit for Dan. The headline reads: βDan McQuade, a Catalyst in Cosbyβs Downfall, Dies at 43.β It includes a photo of Dan as well.
Dan McQuade in The New York Times! A richly deserved tribute:

I only overlapped with Dan for a year on the sports staff at The Daily Pennsylvanian, so Iβve mostly admired him from afar, one of many fans of his hilarious, humane, endlessly creative, and distinctively Philly body of work. Wonderful to see him being recognized, but what a terrible loss.
The Boston accent may be in retreat, but I just heard an amazing announcement about a double-parked βblue Teeyoterβ outside the Star Market in Packards Corner

Thanks, Susan!
Got galleys last night! Very exciting! Had some help from a 6yo scissors-wielder who loves to open packages, and who didnβt even exist yet when my agent (Wendy Strothman) first encouraged me to pursue this story as a book! @stmartinspress.bsky.social

Thank you so much for this! By the way, I was an intern at the Arizona Republic back in 2001, and I have a cousin in Sedona!
I have no memory of this, but the Celtics actually won that one, and 18-year-old rookie Kobe Bryant scored 2 points on 1 of 7 shooting
Watching the Pats at my childhood home. Just found this 11/27/1996 Celtics-Lakers ticket while helping my 6yo look unsuccessfully for some old coin albums. Incredible that it was $10 β before variable game pricing even for season ticket holders
This was so much fun to read, amid the otherwise crummy news of the marketβs closure. @devrafirst.bsky.social at her best www.bostonglobe.com/2026/01/16/l...
Wonderful to see a packed house β and so many old and dear Globe friends β for the amazing Janice Page and YEAR OF THE WATER HORSE @brooklinebooksmith.bsky.social tonight
I had forgotten the name βWhitman Coin Folder,β but itβs reassuring to know these blue albums I loved as a kid remain unchanged across the decades, still with the power to captivate a screen-obsessed 6-year-old.
(βDad, I just canβt believe I have 2025-D and regular 2023!β π)
Well this is super cool to see! A school-librarian friend spotted my book on BookBubβs list of most anticipated nonfiction titles for 2026! www.bookbub.com/blog/nonfict... (Shout out to Liz Hitron at the Sunita Williams School.)
Itβs Barnes & Noble presale time! You can get my book (THE HARDEST, LONGEST RACE) and lots more exciting titles coming in 2026 for 25% off if you order by dayβs end on 1/1/26! Use code PREORDER25 at www.barnesandnoble.com/w/the-hardes...
After the 67th day of school party, my 6yo asked if we could get an ILOVE67 license plate. I said no, because it costs extra and because we may not be excited about 6-7 forever. Then a friend spotted this
Just realized itβs December 2, which means my book is coming out in six months! If youβre interested in winning a free copy, thereβs a Goodreads giveaway going on now www.goodreads.com/book/show/24... @stmartinspress.bsky.social
Could it be from the 1970 Topps Super Baseball set? The cards are larger (more like a photo size, 3 1/8β x 5 1/4β) than normal and donβt have any writing or border, just a big portrait and facsimile signature www.sportscollectorsdaily.com/super-size-1...
I missed it, so I did a google image search for cardinal and robin and he confirmed it was definitely a cardinal. βIt was beautiful!β he said. βDo you think it heard us say that?β
βIs that a red pigeon?β my six-year-old asked, spotting a cardinal near Coolidge Corner.
Wonder if the Guinness Book people have any interest in this one
