I'm just wondering, if this kind of extra-national apprehension is going to be normalized, does that put George W. Bush at (greater) risk for being prosecuted for war crimes?
It's been 6 days now, and I still haven't seen anyone say this very obvious thing.

Women's history month is all about celebrating strong women and the challenges they've had to overcome.
Long Lead's features THE DEPTHS SHE'LL REACH, LIFTING UKRAINE, and THE CATCH focus on women who have broken barriers, overcoming personal struggles to achieve their goals.
We need more longform journalism.
“There’s a particular kind of enjoyment that comes from getting lost in a story. And that doesn’t really happen until, like, the 3,000-word mark.... There’s the appeal of the epic in fiction or in cinema or epic poetry, and long form journalism is our equivalent.”
This is such a great interview, Mark!

As I said last week, this is absolutely an enormous concern of national importance.
In the season premiere of LONG SHADOW: BREAKING THE INTERNET, host Garrett Graff unpacks memes and moments you know — like when the world became transfixed by the color of a dress — and others you don’t, but should — like how people sent death threats to the woman who posted that meme online.

Compared to other athletes, Alenka Artnik didn't seem to be physically extraordinary, her trainer thought. But the mental strength she forged overcoming hardship gave her an obvious edge.
Now she's one of the world's greatest female freedivers.
“If Kamala wins, only death and destruction await because she is the candidate of endless wars. I am the candidate of peace. I am peace.” - Trump, 11/1/24
“I’m not going to start a war, I’m going to stop wars.” - Trump, 11/5/24
You know the old saying:
“History doesn’t repeat… our president just has a goldfish memory, hasn’t read a book ever, and is otherwise incapable of accumulating knowledge from past events.”
This War Will Destabilize The Entire Mideast Region And Set Off A Global Shockwave Of Anti-Americanism vs. No It Won’t
I can't fucking believe we're doing this again.
What I haven’t seen anyone said — and what is painfully obvious — is that Trump is attacking Iran now, because Jared Kushner cannot rebuild Gaza as a waterfront destination in Mar-a-Lago’s image with the threat of Iranian missiles flying in to destroy it.
You won't regret it. It's good TV.
Nate, this is very, very good. You produced a fair profile of a complicated subject who changed over the decades, and you represented that very well.
I hope he reads that and sees it. I don't think a younger version of him would, but the one who owns a leaf blower ought to.

The Ellison’s bid is $111B (perhaps minus a $7B fee if regulators block the sale, which ha, fat luck of that), but this Saudi backing should have everyone alarmed — in addition to antitrust concerns by combining WBD with Paramount (not to mention CBS with CNN).
👋 Hello States Attorneys General!👋
Thank you for listening! We had a lot of fun making this particular episode. I love the code flowing like water part, the most. :)
I hope you keep listening. The ending is very powerful, though we all know the arc of the story, sadly.
Hey Jack — thanks for the RT. I dropped you a Signal message a few weeks back but I don’t think you got it. Follow for DM?
You in particular might like Ep. 2. There’s a politics story or two in there that may surprise you. One important one relates to, believe it or not, this guy:

Yes, but The Dress was a harbinger of things to come. Give this show a listen — I think you’ll see it in a whole new light.
