Iβm so glad you liked it π₯Ήπ«Άπ»
Thank you!
Iβm contemplating trying to write fiction for the first time in my life. Maybe Iβll document that process, maybe Iβll never write again. Itβs a coin toss.
poster that says βNO GOOD VEGANSβ theworldone.substack.com and has the substack logo
Today I am debuting my little blog, The World on E! The first post is detailing why I would start a blog, fun stories behind me trying to do a blog before, and my intense personality when it comes down to creative work. I talk about Timothee Chalamet bc obviously. Follow? :) theworldone.substack.com
The amount of black-out poems that have appeared in the past 24 hours is very interesting to me. Poetry is everywhere, folks.
Thank you!
Iβm so glad that you enjoyed it!
Thank you so much, Iβm grateful for the kind words!
Screenshot of a web page. The words are a poem by Edith Krone titled βat work, the new guy asksβ βyou prefer she, right? i want to say that it is not really a preference, it just is, my life is not made up of preferences but if it was, i would simply prefer to not be here. i would prefer a cliffside, a Van Gogh landscape, a menagerie of colors so bright that my eyes could not focus, but mostly, i prefer to not see. if forced to, id prefer to see the world through my eyes and through my eyes i am six feet of stardust and Tennessee sunshine. we heard how in Van Gogh's Starry Night, you could tell the time through the stars but around here we mostly guess. in the night humidity, we tell time by the cricket's chirp and distant city lights--Marlboro smoke rising in place of us.β
Today is scary. My first poem has officially been published to Rust & Moth! Itβs been such a weird and long road to get here but Iβm a published writer (of sorts) now. I donβt know what to do now but be hopeful that you enjoy it. Thanks. Bless.
Meeting Taylor was a delight, I got to accompany him to lunch and he was so friendly and welcoming. His work ethic is amazing and he left me with one big noteβWhen you write, youβre a farmer. There are seasons of tilling, seasons of preparing; seasons of reaping and sowing.
Two shadows on a street. One silhouette has devil horns.
Had a good and productive Halloween! Wrote two poems and submitted three essays to it mags! Off to Hot Springs, Arkansas in the morning for the first annual poetry festival!
Another big rewrite this month but I have some ideas π«£
Bit of a bummer, but taking the best team in the league to double overtime is a win every day of the week. Really happy with this and great first showing. Get KD some more reps and more of our guards and weβll be great.
Amen Thompson has grown a lot this off-season. #Rockets
A vase with magenta flowers with a tuxedo cat looking at the camera while a orange, white, and black cat smells them
I was given some flowers after a reading I did last night!
Check out the audio reading of the work too, it was a delight to read ;)
poster featuring a child holding a baseball bat, wearing a cap with curly hair coming out the sides. the words say βEditor interview! dogyard is open, submit work! Join our monthly contest! Read Edith Kroneβs interview!β
#dogyard is back with our last editor interview for a while. Over the next week, we'll be posting some fun stuff and hanging out!
Even if you hate my lame interview, please take the time to thank our editors and those that helped get us here. It's been a blessing and so much love all of our mutts!
A stack of books on a wooden desk
The semester starts tomorrow. Iβll update this thread with teachings and discussions about each book as we discuss them throughout the semester! Iβm missing a few that are in transit or on pre-order but about 18 books this semester for two classes and then a workshop that only has one. #booksky
In reading our heritage, you find a love and trust instilled in you. We have always been the underdogs, always been attacked. Still, the work endures and there are those that built this world for us and it is our job to continue the work. Bless the work.
Today, #dogyard debuted our classical section. In my intro, I identified the importance of literary heritage. It truly means the world to me to know that I am apart of something larger than myself. With the arts being attacked, it is important to think of the past and the future we CAN build.
So blessed for the reception. This mag is only a month and a half old and was only an idea that started in April. A great and dedicated staff that truly cares about literature and the work that we do. Love love love the #writingcommunity.
Constant work this summer and I cannot exaggerate the amount of books I bought for class this week. Iβll post what a semester in an #MFA program looks like soon. Check out what weβre doing at @dogyardmag.com because we have a lot of posts up soon!

Entirely not the move. Let me know if you have any online book clubs for poetry that you participate in π
Iβm heartbroken to hear of the passing of Andrea Gibson. Iβm blessed for the door they opened and paved the way for Spoken Word and performance poets. Andreaβs work in Button Poetry was a god-send for my teenage years and really allowed me to see this light that we all work in. Thank you, Andrea.
Poster featuring the cover of CD Eskilson's book, Scream/Queen, and a dog. The photo's text details a section of the book, "β...Scream/Queenβs horror concept is both playful and powerful... Eskilson makes it clear in their writing that there is more to the stories of all things we are told go bump in the night, redeeming monsters and redirecting horror tropes which have historically demonized trans experiences, while also creating a collection of poems that allows for the celebration of community, love, survival, and self...β -Lillian Durr"
Check out our first book review done by the brilliant @lillian-durr-art.bsky.social! Lillian covered the awe-inspiring debut from @cdeskilson.bsky.social!
dogyard mag is accepting fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction and more!

Thereβs so much power in a single poem that the heat that youβve built can really explode throughout!! Iβm currently having to redo the syntax and making it more direct which is challenging. Feels like I am entirely rewriting everything but itβs a book! Each voice sings but the choir captivates.
Listen, I know itβs an art form. BUT! Ordering poems is the most bureaucratic process of writing. Iβm at this step and it makes me want to NEVER WRITE AGAIN haha. Bless all yβall who have multiple books, Iβm drowning in # 1
I joined my first book club today! A bit nervous bc I donβt know the vibe but Iβm excited! #writer #poet #writingcommunity
