The Assize of Arms of 2026
If I had a nickel for every time Franz Ferdinand was involved in the precursor events of a world war, Iβd have two nickels, which isnβt a lot, but itβs weird it happened twice
Sure picked the right name to appeal to nationalist sentimentβVimy Pharma!

He can just use state power to make bad things worse, blame others, and demand that we donβt hold elections. Thatβs it, thatβs the whole plot; and if we donβt see it thatβs on us. (3/3)
As soon as they fly the βmission accomplishedβ banner.
The first time an Iranian death in custody caused an international stir. But we really are revolted by that behaviour. Part of the reason for our reaction to trump.
We see the direction the US is going and all know it is evil. That there is no excuse. We saw where this same evil led in WW2.
In 90s we had some level of business dealings with them. Then, in 2003, they raped, tortured and killed an Iranian-Canadian journalist theyβd jailed.
They doubled down when we called them on it. The Iranian government can eat shit, but we want reform not war.
On the selling of weapons, etc. Iran doesnβt have a legitimate grievance.
Theyβve been helping Putin kill Ukrainians for some time. This is decidedly not in Canadian or European interests.
The reason Canada-Iran relations are bad is not because of the US.

Also diplomatic statements are best backed up with other diplomatic activities.
Best statement in the world still isnβt going to be enough to end a war on its own.
UK & France also have their own interests in the Middle East separate from US. Both are former colonial powers and are closer & more dependent on the ME for energy needs.
The point is to encourage others to stay out before they join in. If they do, they should know better than to run crying to us.
That language was what Iβd suggested a couple days ago. UK/France was not allowing strikes.
Once a country gets involved in attacks, they can no longer claim to be defending themselves. Doesnβt matter if itβs their bombs or just their runway.
Our relationship with Israel should be similar to 1980s South Africa. That is to say, nothing until they end apartheid and other atrocities.
Thatβs the reason I suggested βallies uninvolved in the attackβ. So I agree with you on that.
For geographic reasons we should want to have a good relationship with the US eventuallyβonce they start acting like something other than a rogue state.
Calling it: This somehow ends up intersecting with the Alberta thing in the dumbest way possible when Trump panics and gets convinced Canada is hiding the secret make gas cheap button from him.
China is going to eat the USβs lunch for the next 50+ years. They donβt even have to lift a finger.
Taking Taiwan would interfere with that and destroy most of Taiwanβs value at the same time.

Every EO, every pardon, every policy and directive, every appointment, and every single action taken by one of his appointees
This is what the next President has to do for Trump. He served despite being Constitutionally ineligible. Itβs all voided.

Iranβs people were facing a horrible shortage of water before the war began. If we are destroying desalination plants and setting fire to Teheran we are committing unfathomable crimes.
BREAKING: The US has bombed Tehranβs main refinery and burning oil is now flooding down the streets into the cityβs sewers.
This is a vision from hell, unleashed by the US tonight.

Multiple news outlets are reporting a US attack on an Iranian #desalination plant.
If verified, this violates international law protecting #water systems during wars, and it sets a dangerous precedent, given intense dependence of Gulf countries on desalination.

Yes, but it wonβt happen until after.
The international community will have to keep the pressure on. US instinct will be to set accountability aside in the interest of unity/healing.
Should also demand repeal of ASPA (Hague Invasion Act).

Agreed, it will take a team. But in the end, you only have one president and theyβre going to have to wear the mantle for all of it.
The things that need to be done will be difficult (reform), ugly (accountability), and out of character (apology/amends). Youβll only have one shot. Donβt flinch.
