Frogspawn in the V-2 crater in Epping Forest this morning, surface swirling with scarpering legs as I approached. Always the same spot in the margins each year & through March it's often a race against time as the water retreats in a dry spring.

I do a book swap every two months with an old friend, in which we send each other by post something we’ve read recently that we’ve liked. It gets me reading things I never would have picked up. Some don’t hit the mark, but good to read a little out of other people’s interests….
