This is the behavior of a startup dev team not ready for a platform that is accelerating as it is.

Which means guardrails need to be put in place to protect the engineers from being exposed to direct user criticism, and to protect users from upset devs.

I’ve seen people be fired for this kind of thing tbh.

I’m sorry no software is good enough to have such a fragile ego about it.

And frankly, if you’re using AI to do most of your output, you VERY MUCH can stand to take it less personally.

Bluesky devs mocking their own user base and getting overly defensive about vibe coding is a REALLY bad look.

I work on extremely public work and when users don’t like what we do, my job is to stfu and listen.

It’s at minimum incredibly unprofessional to be doing this rn.

It's easy to condescend, but when the media is amplifying the marketing, organizations are blaming layoffs on AI being able to fully replace professional workers, and the system sounds so confident, users will assume it does the thing.

Blaming users deflects responsibility from the product makers.

It is not hyperbolic to say that ICE is domestic terrorism.

I knew I’m neurodivergent, I self identify as autistic, but it would seem it’s a well known thing that I’m AuDHD.

News to me but oh well better now than never

Funny you should mention it, the only reason I noticed it is my AirPods disconnected right after I got off the bus and it started driving away!

There are many memories I am reflecting on in this moment that I am realizing are related to my neurodivergence.

And while I wish I had known much much sooner I’ll try to make the best of it now, it’s good to know it helped your friend πŸ’™

Apologies I know there’s a lot of horrible things happening (always) that I should focus on

but if the last few years have taught me anything it’s that I have to learn about these things and how I can self accommodate so I can keep going

Well, a few days ago I got an ADHD diagnosis which I was skeptical but warily accepting of.

Since then I left my laptop at work, and left my phone on the bus.

And after I am done being very upset for losing my phone, this is going to be funny, because the universe loves to immediately humble me.

I love watching people use LLMs in public. They’ll reply to a breaking news article and say β€œ@grok is this true?” Babe where do you think it’s about to pull its answer from

At one point I (accidentally) convinced thousands of people on Reddit that I was Al Gore

I kept insisting I am not Al Gore but everyone kept saying that that’s what Al Gore would say.

Oh my friend that is something that relates to OCD, I should know I have it!

And my theory on it is that it comes from all the times I forgot something and things went badly!

06.03.2026 01:16 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Yeah, I didn’t know that was a part of it! Everything must go in its exact place or I lose it or forget it 😭

Me: how could I have ADHD? I have a process for every single thing in my life that I methodically follow.

Also me: son of a bee I left my laptop at the office again

05.03.2026 23:55 πŸ‘ 26 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 5 πŸ“Œ 0

Yeah, Im working through thoughts on that.

I’m not ashamed of the label, and there are accommodations and medications that could help me.

But this doctor is very good at finding ways for ND patients to access those without getting logged into a system RFK Jr has access to, so that’s nice

The cognition specialist who delivered my ADHD diagnosis to me yesterday is amazing.

Even though I know I’m neurodivergent, I’ve never listed the diagnoses in medical charts, for personal reasons.

So upon telling me the news, she also said it wont go in my chart unless I expressly consent to it

Kristi Noem being removed is a great thing, yes.

But I am not particularly optimistic

The person replacing her? Probably just as bad.

Her future? Probably millions of more followers on social media and five book deals, along with millions of dollars.

That’s seems to be the American way now

05.03.2026 19:04 πŸ‘ 11 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 2 πŸ“Œ 0

Which again ultimately brings me back the conclusion I’ve reached many times over:

If you’re considering accessibility purely in the end of development bandaid way you’re doing things way less effectively and efficiently.

And that’s why I do what I do (and love this work)

05.03.2026 18:29 πŸ‘ 5 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

From a user sense, does it matter if you made an accessibility workaround if they can’t find it or use it?

From a legal sense, does your compliance checkbox being β€œchecked” mean legal protection?

Certainly, this is the case many organizations attempt to make.

But one I tend to find is untrue.

05.03.2026 18:24 πŸ‘ 6 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

One of my favorite issues to manage in accessibility: we made this workaround to meet compliance but it is in no way discoverable.

Okay, so…in that sense, is it meaningfully accessible?

Hey guys this is not a viable source. Besides the fact that any AI system being used by the government presumably has access to more updated date (I sure hope). Claude is not a person, it can't answer questions about why it did something, it confidently lies, it doesn't have access to other's state.
