Ooh. Someone bought me an Iain Banks boxset for Christmas one year that I haven't dipped in to yet. Thanks for the reminder
So I was confused to hear about people having fun LARPing as AI. Until I realized LARP actually stands for 'Live As Robot Painter' and now I'm in.

We need to get all of the sci fi writers together and get them to write books about how Universal Basic Income is actually a terrible, dystopian concept. We can then sit back as it is enacted within the decade. Check mate techno oligarchs.
Rename it SHAD:ER and add some checks so it only works on hospital wifi
My internal monologue every time an AI boss alludes to their mid-witted new plagiarism chatbot developing consciousness

The music tech scene has always been rife with shitty midi chord pack ads, with testimonials like 'I didn't have to learn any theory! I don't have to think anymore!'. Which sucks for them because playing music is actually really fun. LLM code evangelists are the midi chord pack slugs of programming.
Sweet, this is a neat way of doing it
Love the atmosphere in these
Slay The Spire 2's 500,000+ concurrent players on a Godot 4.5 build is an incredible thing. This will be run on every conceivable combo of PC hardware and that kind of battle testing is invaluable. Congrats to @megacrit.com for the deserved success and @godotengine.org for a massive moment! #godot
But can you free scooch through the snow, like an itchy dog, leaving an indent behind you...?
Shameless. This is like being caught stealing a car and presenting a list of tyre and wiper blade manufacturers as your defence

Backed up by the soft power of long unchecked cultural dominance, as Frankie Boyle put it:
βNot only will America go to your country and kill all your people, but whatβs worse is that theyβll come back 20 years later and make a movie about how killing your people made their soldiers feel sad."
They were. Although interestingly the first game wasn't made with Unity, it was made with libGDX, which like Godot is open source. I believe they switched to Unity for SLS2 dev about 2 years prior to the runtime fee, then jumped ship to Godot after. So really, both games are a win for FOSS tools!
And it's almost 3 times that now!
Just read an article some sausage on here is sharing as an argument for LLM consciousness. The evidence? 2 Claude models, prompted to discuss being an AI with each other, regurgitated some waffle about consciousness. Of course it did, the entire canon of human authored sci-fi is in the data set, ffs
And 200,000...
And 300,000...
And 400,000...
And 500,000...
Turns out this spire is pretty tall!
Valve isn't perfect but at least the Steam Deck welcome tour is free (and playable on any PC) store.steampowered.com/app/1902490/...
The original Beach Boys lineup was actually 4 sharks in a trench coat
I just revved up a chainsaw and dropped it in a box of important documents. It tore them to shreds and is now wildly oscillating around the office chewing up all of my furniture. If you also do your paperwork with a chainsaw, you should join my substack. I just shared my top chainsaw handling tips.
"Itβd make me extremely happy to find out that other game developers learned something from reading through our code and our scenes :) "
Very timely thread, having just seen this comment from one of the Slay the Spire 2 devs following release:

I hope Thift Zizek's patter with the customers is on this level
But then he takes a look at it and says "not quite done yet" before wincing and shoving it back in. The skin on his hands audibly crackling the whole time.
Well damn, I know what I'm doing this weekend!
