It comes as no surprise that the horrors tolerated in Gaza are now being carried out elsewhere, as the Israeli military escalates its ongoing attacks on Lebanon and expands its endless war to Iran. We stand against the Israeli government’s horrors, wherever they take place.
The Israeli military has been permitted to operate with total impunity, continually carrying out attacks that are war crimes under international law, and all funded by US tax dollars.
Israeli forces have also used double-tap strikes in Lebanon for years. Most recently, the Israeli military carried out a double-tap strike on Tuesday in Tyre, killing three paramedics.
On Sunday, as Iranians were breaking the Ramadan fast, Israeli forces executed another double-tap strike in Niloofar Square, killing over 20 people.
On Saturday, the first day of the US-Israeli war on Iran, the Israeli military executed a double-tap strike on the Midab girls’ school in southern Iran, killing over 170 people including sheltering survivors and first responders in a second strike.
One such double-tap strike by the Israeli military, at Nasser Hospital in Gaza in August 2025, killed over 20 people including medics and journalists who rushed to the scene and were killed by the second strike.
Double-tap strikes are illegal under international law because targeting medics or rescue workers is prohibited. And yet, the Israeli military uses them frequently, with no accountability.
Before the so-called ceasefire, the Israeli military regularly deployed tactics like double-tap strikes. The first strike is intended to kill an individual or individuals, the second to kill any rescue workers, journalists, or medics who come to help.
Throughout the genocide in Gaza, the Israeli military has targeted schools, hospitals, refugee camps, apartment buildings, and other critical infrastructure with total impunity.
The Israeli government is expanding its Gaza playbook to Lebanon and Iran with double-tap strikes—illegal back-to-back airstrikes on a single target.
