if you have recently switched to @penpot.app (you should!) and enjoy playing around with nice type AND enjoy the wonders of logarithmic scales, i made a lil type tester playground and recorded a quick (for me) walkthrough. setting type w/ typography tokens is lush. www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mXS...

"What even is mindful design? Mindful design at its core is responsible and ethical design. Itβs an approach to design that makes explicit the implicit responsibility we have to the people who we ask to use the stuff we make. Itβs about learning how humans work, and using that knowledge to empower rather than exploit."
Boy, do we need more mindful design in the world. Thankful for people like @scott.is helping give us all the tools to push back against the tech industrial complex

Oh now we can all move the stuff we moved off Vercel off Cloudflare. Absolutely fab. Lovely little industry we've got. Smashing.

gmail just ai-generated a reply to an email for me without me even asking and then ai-generated a new suggestion for every. single. sentence. to improve its perceived shitty writing of its own generated email. ouroboros but just a big eternal poo.
And regarding the makers of the models and tools, I was talking to someone at Anthropic who said something about "the AI race" and I was like, there's no race.
First-mover advantage is (mostly) a myth. You're just doing the R&D for followers.
And we're seeing that play out.
literally just split the stems and mute everyone else and get a masterclass in folding gospel chops into modern music.
like all i'm saying is if you're gonna listen to an over-produced anonymous industry plant band full of masked members with a vocalist who sounds like they're chewing glue then you might as well listen to the one who have somehow convinced the best drummer in the world to stick around.
the only thing interesting about president is that they somehow make sleep token seem listenable.
ohhh this is sick
was gonna go for a full single-monitor setup to keep things neat and tidy but then i realised i wouldn't be able to watch live streams of pandas in the zoo while i pretend to work and honestly i would rather die
'Possible Twitter screenshot' is a godsend

I have a very experienced friend who is on the lookout for their next opportunity, but canβt post about it.
Theyβre highly experienced and talented in anything developer relations in the web and dev tooling space with a particular passion and skill for education.
Drop me a DM or email!
been laughing at this on and off all day
Weβre going to learn how to design for real humans. Real humans are fallible, weird, unpredictable, and above all else, unique.
How do you design for real humans, with all of our messiness, unpredictability and wonderful uniqueness? In the first lesson of Mindful Design, @scott.is gives an intro to what his Mindful Design approach is all about, and what you'll find inside the course.
