New Zealand tackled Covid by going in early and hard, shutting the virus out until vaccines arrived and ending up with one of the lowest death rates anywhere #NZPol
Good to hear youβve headed out of it now. PEM is brutal!
All the best! It sure is tiring to have a kid in hospital π»π·
What's up with the GPs in Australia? They keep promoting GET as if the PACE trial were actually not a fraudulent, discredited piece of crap! virology.ws/2026/03/09/t...
Screenshot of a news article from The Post titled βRepeatedly getting Covid doesnβt build immunity, βitβs more like accumulating damageβ,β written by Melanie Earley of RNZ and dated March 10, 2026. Below the headline is a portrait of leading vaccinologist and associate professor Dr Helen Petousis-Harris, shown facing the camera against a dark background. The article discusses how repeated COVID-19 infections may cause cumulative harm rather than building lasting immunity.

No AI, I donβt want you to summarize everything. I want to read things and think about them with my own brain.
Spots are still available for people with Long Covid/MECFS in Εtepoti Dunedin to participate in free facilitated creative writing workshops. I'm one of the facilitators. There's no commitmentβif you think you might be interested, get in touch.
Itβs a good time to chuck on a respirator mask, esp in health care settings, public transport & busy places (indoors and out). @covidactionnz.bsky.social have set up a couple of mask blocs around the country if youβre close to one and need some masks.
Bring back the half price public transport fares again to combat high petrol prices!!!!!! #nzpol
Hahahahaha I'm in this post and i don't like it
walking - joints hurt sitting - joints hurt standing - joints hurt bending - joints hurt lifting - joints hurt doing nothing - joints hurt there is no magic amount. your joints just hate you. mybodyistryingtokillme.com
New Zealand: Te Papa, botanical gardens added to measles locations of interest www.rnz.co.nz/news/nationa...
The Public Health Communication Centre Aotearoa recommended in *2024* to extend eligibility for additional doses to younger age groups, especially those at occupational risk.
Could NZ media please follow up on why public health expert recommendations are not being followed, as a new wave ramps up π«
We need clean air in schools. Covid is airborne with tiny aerosol particles. Ventilation and air filtration are proven to reduce levels of Covid in the air. We need to minimize transmission in schools.
With Aotearoa in its ninth wave, it is vital to stop Covid spreading in schools.

@health.govt.nz @healthnz.govt.nz why is there no offical comms telling people to get boosters?!?! Of course only over-30s can regularly get them. π‘
Why is Prof Baker the only person talking about this??
The current and previous Ministers for Health do not want to talk about it, thatβs why. #nzpol

That really sucks π Not what you need π·π»
NZ Police actually live up to your claims of caring about survivors of SV, challenge level: are you joking
Dude gave them a screen recording then factory reset his phone and somehow this was compelling evidence that *she* was the liar
okay so, here goes nothing: i've just set up a givealittle page to see if i can crowdfund getting me a scooter!
i need NZ$999 total and i've set this to run until the end of april, i will see if i can extend it if i don't quite get there by then.
if you can't chip in, please consider reposting!
Oh no! Hoping itβs mild and you recover quickly
And 99% of airline passengers vote for no masks on airplanes because theyβre sick of the mildest inconvenience and besides itβs just a cold anyway and wait are you still going on about that thing from six years ago? #COVID
our elected politicians are using Ai to do their job is sickening - I mean, if you NEED to ask Ai to do what you're supposed to be ABLE to do, you need to stop being in that job
I'm just annoyed that I feel like all the knowledge and the technology we have means we could all be having a really nice time and scientists could be doing science and everyone could have enough food and shelter and everything they need but instead *gestures at everything*
A friend's grandma lw/Alz in a care home recently had RSV and is now rapidly decompensating. Why can we not protect our elderly with respirator mandates for caregivers, employees and visitors in care homes?
6 years on from Covid, BBC Look North highlights the ongoing impact of #LongCovid. Reporter Cathy Minton says itβs personal, her husband Tom hasnβt improved in a year. He still canβt care for his toddler or go for walks. @franhaddock.bsky.social says new people continue to get long Covid.
Working in a pandemic world is just listening to colleagues say βthere must be something going aroundβ on a weekly basis for years and trying to decide if you wanna remind them itβs covid or silently scream into the void again.
