He did indeed! There is a reason NYC and a lot of New Jersey didn't vote for him. He has been in the papers for years because of stiffing and suing of contractors. He had over 90% of the votes against him in his hometown. Just wish the rest of the country could have seen it.

He definitely didn't come up with some of the things he has done. There are a group of horrible people.

Is it really just one guy, though? He isn't smart enough to come up with some of the stuff he has been doing. There are a lot of people with aligned goals, or it wouldn't be happening.

Burning the midnight oil predates fossil fuels. It's just as bad though since it's referring to whale oil lamps.

Little by little, then all at once. The dollar has been losing purchasing power for decades. It had a long hill to roll down. It has been propped up by shemes, war economies and the exploitation of people around the world. The rest of the world is no longer having it. "All at once" is coming.

I can't believe how few people vote for 3rd parties.

Honestly, maybe if the dollar is destroyed, people will wake up and push for real money, money that actually retains purchasing power and can't be created on a whim.

This shouldn't even be a thing. There shouldn't even be a Fed. Fiat currency is systemic thievery of real assets from the population. If we had sound money a lot of the world's problems wouldn't even exist.

American is collapsing as the rest of the world moves on from dollars and fossil fuel dependence. I think the politicians are scared. There isn't huge pushback because they are having an existential crisis.

With our huge debt to gdp ratio and less demand for dollars we can no longer 'print' money without consequences. Other governments buying US treasuries kept the system going. As we lose currency dominance Washington is trying to maintain the status quo. By controlling more oil resources.
