brightly coloured illustration of a lion-headed king clutching a hound in his claws, drawing blood where he holds her. a throng of more hounds barks and snaps around his feet.
my first of @mortiscausa.bsky.social 's #marchtoCamelot drawings for this year! don't know if I'll be able to put this much effort into them all but I had fun with this one! as with last year, theming them around my ongoing GN because I'm still obsessed with it.

I'm still without any current clientwork, so would really appreciate anyone wanting to share this! Alternatively, give my patreon or my shop a look? They both have a lot of things on.

graphic reads βhourly comics day disability diariesβ with a drawing of me (white nonbinary guy w black facial scruff & short green hair) lying in bed looking shattered. Lower text reads βhello. I make comics, andββ
βThis yearβs my 10 year anniversary of chronic illness (ME/CFS)β - a small cartoon of me with a balloon going βwow!!β then ββ¦wait.β
In an inset past yearβs comic, Iβm going βhopefully later Iβll be well enough to draw a little!β but end up lying still in bed all day - βalasβ.
β*8 years of my illness being βmoderate to severeβ = mostly bedbound, unable to walk down the street or prepare a meal without collapsing.β
βIβve been making a day of hourly comics every February since I first got illβ (some pics of many years worth of hourlies,w ith me waking up feeling exhausted, too ill to sit up)
βIt can be hard, but it means a lot to share the reality of my daily life honestly and to hear from others in the same boat. Thank you! I can confirm that the books arrived in San Francisco, and are now somewhere between the west coast docks and Nevada.... Yeah, international shipping is a mystery to me too π

You may already know this, but I think you can voluntarily opt out of payments on account (the advance payment of tax scheme) by saying you don't expect to be making the same amount of money the next year. I'm not sure how, but housemate has done it in the past. Taxes are shit!

I'm not going to a government seminar on EU tax ever again. I've already wasted 6 hours of my life listening to someone being paid way too much to know absolutely nothing about the topic at hand that isn't available with a quick google search and give no functional or reliable advice.

Romania's charge applies to *any* mail originating from outside the EU. If my mail routes through France, does that package get a double charge??

Okay, reading up on it, I wonder how these charges will stack or interact. Italy's charge only applies if the parcel arrives *directly* from outside of the EU; if it arrives through another EU country (which most mail heading inland does) there's no fee.

It's like, what's the gd point. Efforts to punish tax dodging multi-billion companies masquerading as profit-less up-and-comers always seem to punch down on the actual creators who desperately need help. Huff!

Some guidance on this issue was written up by my IOSS integration provider:
easproject.com/romania-ital...
Long story short, new β¬2 fees to Italy (unlikely to proc) and ~β¬5 fees to Romania (very likely to proc). I believe these fees will be bundled in as part of shipping services (e.g. Royal Mail)
