Thanks for your comment, so is it fair to say that the full voting rights provision was written into the new constitution at that point? As earlier Representation of the People Act of 1918 gave a very limited cohort of women the right to vote?

Honouring International Women’s Day with a look back at how far we’ve come.
In 1922, Irish women finally won full voting rights—thanks to the tireless efforts of those who fought for equality and democratic participation.
Their voices shaped our future and continue to inspire us today.

While I feel for those losing their jobs, this is the kind of strong response we need from the @epaireland.bsky.social for chronic polluters of our waterways. This plant got away with polluting for far too many years, it's high time it was shut down.
Our waters deserve protection, no excuses.

Many thousands of birds use Lough Swilly as a first stop migrating south and last stop going north, with birds from all over Ireland, UK, France and Western Europe relying on it.
We called for a far more legally and ecologically robust assessment of the potential impact of this aquaculture.

Another war. Another fossil shock.
As violence escalates in the Middle East, civilians face devastating consequences. But the energy fallout is already hitting Europe. Gas prices up 50% in hours.
This is what fossil fuel dependence looks like. 🧵

Why are thousands of rare and protected species drowning in fishing gear off the Irish coast, including in our only marine National Park?

Great work from Ringsend and Irishtown Tidy Towns volunteers in Dublin! A handy reminder from Clean Coasts that what enters our drain network can end up damaging our marine ecosystem too! Cigarette butts are very harmful to the environment, containing a toxic mix of chemicals and microplastics.
🌿 Can businesses survive without nature? The NEW @ipbes.net #BizBiodiversity report says no. Companies depend on biodiversity, yet many degrade it. Shifting to nature-positive practices is essential.

Always inspiring to see the fantastic work of the Climate Ambassadors in action!
This is a huge advance in the standard of wastewater treatment in Ireland and stands in stark contrast to the half measures from agriculture, which is a much bigger source of pollution in our waterways

The ivy clad gable of a ruined medieval church in a historic graveyard in County Monaghan
An 18th century gravestone with distinctive sculpture depicting a stag and a rider on horseback
An 18th century gravestone with faces flanked by wings
Errigal Truagh in County Monaghan was dedicated to St Meallán, a little known 7th century saint. The gables and low sections of the medieval parish church still survive.
The atmospheric historic graveyard has a number of 18th-century headstones carved in a distinctive South Ulster style.
