Hard same, I know it's a marketing gimmick (I hope like most marketing gimmicks all this booktok shit evaporates in the cleansing light of day) but the "tropes checklist" is one of the worst things to happen to the public's relationship to books, every time I see it I feel the call of violence

When someone says „Scientists do not want you to know“ you can dismiss everything from there on. Scientists want you to know. They are desperate that you know. They can’t shut up about what they found out and want you to know.

I think the takeaway a lot of people are missing is that the state is keeping a database of trans folks by tracking everything from gender markers to name changes and attaching corresponding flags to their record.

It should be pretty evident where they're going with this:

Unsure how I feel about this one. The beginning and ending were real strong but something about it felt kinda lopsided. Not big into the costuming either, it leaned really really hard on the "everyone was soooooo dirty and gross in the Old Days" thing. Great cast tho.
