"Working on this guide reaffirmed how important it is to have plain-language guidance in mining review. What good is public consultation at one point in time, if no one knows what the process looks like in full?" - Tali Pukier, 2025 Summer Intern. Chasàn Chùa Territorial Park, with letters filled in with photos from the area, including birds, rosehips and moss, moose cow and calf, and landscapes.
BREAKING: Chasàn Chùa is officially a territorial park! 🎉
This new designation protects 36 square kilometres of forest, wetlands, and waters in the Chasàn Chùa (McIntyre Creek) area. We are SO happy. Congratulations and thank you to everyone who helped make this happen!

Folks who are like, climate change, what climate change? Dawson City has been recording the Yukon River break-up since the Goldrush (so they could bet on it, of course). Earlier/faster now. I mean, I work with things recently melted out of ancient Yukon ice. An even longer record of same.

The other week we hosted a sensory walk & art day with YukonU students at Chasàn Chùa/McIntyre Creek. We slowed down to take in the smells, sounds, & textures of spring, and loved how the sun played with branches through shadows that shifted on the water. Grateful for these spaces! #EarthDayEveryday

For the last few mornings I've been woken by the honking of Trumpeter Swans flying over my house! Most of the ones that pass through Whitehorse, Yukon are heading west into the interior of Alaska... This pair was on the Yukon River at the mouth of McIntyre Creek. #birds

#ICYMI After rallying across #Yukon & NWT, last month Yukon court dismissed a case that threatened the #ProtectthePeel Plan. It was a welcome win that reflected many reactions from the start, when YESAB *recommended* against the Michelle Creek silver project, and Yukon govt took YESAB to court.
