ICE agents in Minneapolis shot and killed a motorist, claiming she rammed her car into them. Video showed her backing up and driving away from the agents before they fired. Local officials rejected Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s assertion that the agents fired in self-defense. “The presence of federal immigration enforcement agents is causing chaos in our city,” Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey subsequently posted on X.

The Trace has identified 14 shootings by federal immigration agents as of January 7.

They include the shootings of three people observing or documenting ICE raids.

States that have enacted permit-to-purchase systems have seen a 40% reduction in the firearm homicide rate. This will save countless lives in Delaware.

HB 54 creates Delaware's Office of Suicide Prevention. Notably, both bills passed with bipartisan support -- confirming what we have always known - gun safety is not a left or right issue. We are working together to save lives in Delaware!

3 years ago, the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act became law, delivering the most significant gun safety progress in decades.

Since January, the Trump agenda has tried to unravel that progress: gutting mental health funding, weakening gun laws, and putting communities at risk.

Three years ago today, President Biden signed the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act.

Subsequently we saw the largest homicide rate drop in recent history and a 20% drop in mass shootings (as of Sept. 2024).

But under the Trump administration many of these safety measures are under threat. 👇

US Supreme Court turns away gun law challenges in Delaware, Maryland The U.S. Supreme Court declined on Monday to hear a bid to block Delaware's prohibition on assault-style rifles and large-capacity ammunition magazines, as well as a challenge to Maryland's handgun licensing requirements, sidestepping two cases involving the divisive issue of gun rights.
