A man asked me last night what publishing needs to do for literary fiction to begin appealing to men again. I said, as nicely as I could, that, with over 2,000 books published every Tuesday, of which many would appeal to men, it’s not a publishing problem, it’s a men problem.
The model of unpaid academic labor required good jobs with ample unstructured time.

A little personal update I'm pleased to share.
For this Spring term, I'll be lecturing at the University of Virginia School of Law, co-teaching a seminar course titled Transgender History, Recognition, Regulation and Rights.
I'm honored to have the opportunity to present this important topic.
I helped my colleague's son with his college application essay last fall. He did multiple drafts responding to my feedback and I spent a few hours on Zoom with him. Just learned he was accepted into his top choice of college! So happy to hear his diligence paid off.

They released numbers once & shut it down bc humanities were producing huge $ for uni & engineers, business and scientists were losing $
