Is 4:20:00 too long to expect people to sit through the premiere of a video at a theatre

See Nirvanna The Band The Show The Movie in a theater if you can. Most I've laughed in a theater since Rise of Skywalker

I bet you're wondering: "how did Harry trick Iron Circus into letting him write a pro-luddite story for their anthology about technology?" Well, I'll tell you. Because the Luddites weren't against technology! They were for a world where this technology improved people's lives. A new machine replacing thousands of jobs should be a good thing!

A world where people are freed to do more and better! Instead, it's mostly good for whoever saved money firing all those workers. The Luddites simply observe earlier than most that it doesn't have to be this way. We didn't even make the work holding the world together less back breaking, we just exported that work somewhere else. This is the capitalist version of progress: people doing shitty jobs for no money. But elsewhere where you don't see it.

When people question the way technology is being used - feel their opportunities and autonomy getting smaller - the world luddite gets dusted off for reuse. When the used states took Microsoft to court for being a monopoly and illegally crushing their competition, Microsoft's lead attorney John Warren called it: "Not really an antitrust case but a return of the luddites, 19th century reactionaries who... went around smashing machines with sledgehammers." Microsoft lost incidentally.

But the sentiment is clear: criticism of the future modern tech giants are building, even their crimes, is opposing progress itself. But the reality is people are still being looted by factory-masters. The industrial revolution massively increased productivity, but the profit from doing so went directly to the hands of the Owners. Take the same measurements of the 20th century's innovations and what do you get? The extremely simple truth - that it doesn't have to be this way - is terrifying if you benefit from the way things are now. An old ghost starts to feel close at hand.

So have a little sympathy for the owners of the world. It's a scary time for them too. They're really panicking. (listed is several headlines of Union-targeting actions by multi-billionaires and their accessories)

Companies the world over have spent hundreds of millions trying to stop unionization efforts. Soon it might even be cheaper to just pay people more. Amazon even tried to ban words like 'injustice', 'compensation', and yes, 'UNION', from their internal apps. They must be vigilant - the old ghost cannot be killed. Only kept at bay.

Looming over Elon Musk, who the writer of this alt text truly hates, Ludd brandishes his sledgehammer with glowing red eyes. Elon looks like he doesn't know what to do without hundreds of thousands of people willing to get hurt for his money or acknowledgement.

"--We used to shoot these people in the dick."

Thank you for reading this comic! Be sure to always take your scheduled breaks. Do not let some 50+ year old slug tell you that you aren't "a team player" because you are not letting them take just a little more. Each break and benefit you get to take is written in blood, and you're only pissing off those who came before you and making someone who isn't paying you smile by doing extra.

No wait! I'm wrong! I liked a different review someone else wrote which was just the transcript of Mark's original Iron Lung video and it's recommending that post in a funny confusing way

I just checked this. Turn out the 'like' button that pops up when you're writing the review is NOT a button you press to signify you liked the film, but a chance to pre-emptively like your own review as you're writing it

A β˜…β˜…β˜…Β½ review of Iron Lung (2026) There's a trilogy of movies adapting the first Mobile Suit Gundam. It's about seven hours total. It gets boring in stretches, and it keeps going, and going. And as more horrors of war are inflicted on...

Accidentally wrote 1300 words about Iron Lung and I can't decide if I should post about it to justify the time spent, or avoid admitting this embarrassing fact

It's coming! I just uh keep adding to it. And then new things keep happening while I'm adding it. I had to read 80 more pages of court documents because things developed while I was adding something else

How Many Trees Are There in Skyrim? YouTube video by Any Austin

@anyaustin.bsky.social got a bunch of people to guess how many trees are in skyrim and then donated $10,000 to Palestine Children's Relief Fund so that at least warrants watching him derive forestry sciences from first principles

(Faked) Google answer that reads:
"Google AI Review - You can't. You are not worthy of a life worth living. You were meant to toil so that wealthy tech bros and CEOs can have multiple girlfriends, one for each yacht and mansion. You are a pack mule with a lifespan of about 68 according to a prediction we made based on data of your immediate family and going back 3 generations. Yes, we have that. No, you can't see it. Decades prior to your death you will struggle to find a job because this life rapidly decays your prefrontal cortex which is necessary for complex tasks and also because we will stop hiring people over 30 in order to drive down salaries. By the time you reach 50, you won't have any wrinkles because you will not have smiled much in this lifetime..."

"if you pass an array to a function it can no longer tell how big it is, you have to tell the function how big the array is in advance" - they made the language wrong then!

(i am joking but it is funny finding out how much harder this is than c# or python)

18.11.2025 14:54 πŸ‘ 2234 πŸ” 71 πŸ’¬ 81 πŸ“Œ 15

18.11.2025 13:23 πŸ‘ 30 πŸ” 1 πŸ’¬ 3 πŸ“Œ 0

I know c#! Learning c++ as an experiment and wow. They don't make programming languages like they used to do they

18.11.2025 13:22 πŸ‘ 27 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 6 πŸ“Œ 0

I need to figure those out. I just made my array really big and then had an int track how many things were actually in it because adding to an array is not possible without the vector thing, which I'm not smart enough to do correctly yet
