@rorycj.bsky.social Wondered if you had seen this recent piece on Musk’s ludicrous vapourware project? https://washingtonian.com/2026/02/12/how-elon-musks-sci-fi-hyperloop-failed/

Add on tailgating, plus a complete lack of understanding of roundabouts, and you’d be right at home on the roads here in Norfolk.

Surely these are Craig Brown spoof pieces from @privateeyenews ?

Mainly seen it used in the imperative plural form ‘likez’ or the pseudo-imperative infinitive. Never seen it conjugated as such, but I guess there’s also a past participle liké out there. Don’t know if I’m impressed or horrified.

I read that Cornershop thought about calling one of their late 90s albums Turban Hymns.

Agent Orange really doesn’t know what he is getting into, does he? In a few years, they’ll be building a wall in DC with lots of names on it.

I think you’re right, and I’m hopeful that’s the case.

If they don’t find any juicy morsels, they’ll just fabricate some.

What’s the betting that the mother of all media monsterings is being prepared right now? I imagine crack teams of dirt-diggers and bin-emptiers are being deployed as we speak.

24hr clock totally normal in continental Europe. Infinitely better. Is it just Brits and Merkins who cling to the 12hr clock?

Genuine question: does the Mail’s ludicrous stance on this even matter all that much? Its readers are the polar opposite of potential Green voters. There are probably zero floating/undecideds to target within the Mail’s sphere of influence. To repeat: genuine question.

Was just mentioning Balanescu to someone else. Particular fave: their version of The Model.

Oh, that’s lovely. The OP clearly hasn’t heard the Balanescu Quartet album Possessed either.

Get that, but maybe a bit more like Piers Brosnan in The Fourth Protocol, assembling a baby nuke?

Thank you. This is on my list to do when I can get some uninterrupted access to the kitchen. Got a few more kits to do first. Terrific hobby, brewed something like 35 batches over the last 4 years or so. Learned so much, so much still to learn. Infinite possibilities.

Been homebrewing for a few years (just extract kits so far) and until I started, I had no idea of how wonderfully complex and artisanal brewing has been over the centuries, and the engineering and craftsmanship involved. A whole world in there.
