so they're genuinely arguing over how much this is going to be allowed esp since the net productivity gains for the average dev seem to be pretty low 3/3

if you are a huge multi national org with tens of thousands of employees and they just got a button that appears to do their work, it's gonna get pushed a lot

being honest we're all getting a bit lazier 2/3

we spoke to a company today who's security team is so concerned by ai code they're considering banning ai tools

your first reaction might be "they're gonna get left behind" but if you are practical their concerns aren't invalid 1/3

i think i still get the good feelings from programming even when using AI because i'm constantly refactoring

i'll have it do a first pass and i'll look at it and think of a way to reduce it to less code that is more beautiful

we've had a process where any PR can be labeled as "beta" and gets applied to beta builds

there are optimizations they can make because we can provide some guarantees about the workload

reminds me of the toyota stuff where they co-designed products with their vendors
