We are often the bad guys. But you're right in that it's much moreso here.

I want to treat this like a joke, but these are all (somehow) arguments the administration could plausibly make.
Just... well played. Well played, sir.
Russian roulette has better odds - and in some losing situations, both share the same ultimate outcome...
I have never met Stella, but their posts have brought me joy.
I will definitely be contributing.
Iβm gonna cry, now and also probably on stream
I said "close enough" because it is NOT close.
But I used to live in Augusta and drove to the Atlanta airport regularly for years for international flights. This is much closer.
I am in love with Dahlonega. Close enough to the Atlanta airport. Nice 3br/3ba mountain house. There's a 4th BR in the walkout basement + plumbing for another bath.
Did I mention the house already had 2 gigabit fiber?
I will 100% be celebrating not looking at houses anymore tonight. Woohoo! /FIN
What an adventure. I'm so stoked to be done looking. I honestly could have waited and probably squeezed another $5k in price.
But getting a signed contract today was important primarily so I could meet in person with the inspector. Not the same as just getting a report online. 3/
I'm not on the lake, but I'm in the mountains in an area with only two neighbors even in sight. The only thing I hear is wind and birds.
New roof last month. Water heater and two of the three HVAC units replaced since 2022. Built in 2005 and could use some updates, but it's move-in ready now. 2/
I just met with the inspector for property number three I've gotten inspections for in the Dahlonega, GA area. Major issues on the first two, so I was waiting for an issue here too.
Got a clean bill of health - "should be maintenance free for years to come." We close right after RSAC. 1/
Fair, but who else should be embarrassed?
That Iranian Navy ship we torpedoed had no ammunition on board because that was a requirement to participate in the MILAN 2026 exercise (organized by the Indian Navy).
The US Navy knew this because IT ALSO PARTICIPATED IN THE EXERCISE. What a national embarrassment.

When I'm fired from my job, I too hope my boss softens the blow with a made up title like "Special Envoy to Shield of Americas" or some such...
if i was Kristi Noem i simply would not quote Orwell
Not a bug but a feature in this new war of choice. What Trump requires is a major terror attack on American soil prior to the midterm elections. Declared state of emergency. Disruptions in voting. Political dissent challenged and even prosecuted.
His war has primed the pump as intended.
A mutual just reached out to ask why I'd blocked him. Turns out, he was added to one of the blocklists I subscribed to. Since there's no way to override blocklists, I had to unsubscribe from the entire list.
People should ABSOLUTELY reach out to me w/ questions if there's an unexplained block.
Please make that one parameter "fuck."

I may or may not have (but definitely did) post this to the group chat...
First reported by @decaturish.bsky.social, GA State Sen. Elena Parent will not seek reelection.
In 2025, Parent, who represents one of the most progressive districts in the South, east of Atlanta, dared a trans parent to find someone to challenge her for reelection in a recorded anti-trans screed:
Will do. I'm moving in the Dahlonega area, but North Atlanta is accessible. I have to go to South Atlanta for the airport, this is infinitely easier.
I've had that experience repeatedly over the years. If I'm being frank, I was recognizing "wow, look at how cool it is that I get to do this a lot" without really admitting the privilege that allows that. No more though, I'm undergoing a significant life change.
This is perspective enhancing because I travel all the time to do things that are awesome (road work is awesome too I presume).
In any case, just stepping back and listening to the experiences of others can change how you look at things. It has for me today. /FIN.
The original contracted house had major foundation issues, so I'm back to looking.
Dahlonega has no Marriott or Hilton, so... Anyway, I'm staying where a bunch of road construction workers are two to a room eating pizza and drinking beer talking about how awesome it is to get paid travel. 2/
In my whole new "celebrate every day" mindset, I'd like to acknowledge how awesome it is that I get to work in security. The challenges tickle my brain. I am so blessed to love what I do.
This has been made extra apparent to me. I'm staying in Dahlonega, GA right now house shopping. 1/
I don't think that the SAVE act includes anything about points 4 or 5? I think he's just throwing in some anti-trans stuff into his post for the fun of it?
If marriage benefited women it would be illegal I stg.
This would be a major scandal in any other administration.
Iβve spent years, decades, obsessing over the Bush Administrationβs Iraq WMD lies, writing about them, debunking them.
I can think of no lie about Iraq WMDs told by Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld et al that comes even close to the enormity and absurdity of this lie from Donald Trump.
Why this war is illegal, and how the Constitution's checks on war powers broke down
