Two or more related novels should relate on the bookshelf. Minimum they should be the same size and have relational book cover designs that are thematically similar. You want your reader to buy both particularly if they are seeing the second one first.

Got to love VR. Researching the locations for my current project in VR Google Earth. Standing at a lakeside and looking up at the surrounding mountains - that I'll probably never visit - has helped my worldbuilding immensely.

It's too early even for the final cover art, but As You Wake, Break the Shell is due out in October and available for preorder πŸš€

Any new Chambers novel is an insta-buy for me. She hasn't let me down yet

Just a reminder that early reviews really help new books gain visibility and readers. So if you enjoy JITTERBUG, please drop a quick review on Goodreads, Amazon, etc. I’d really appreciate it πŸ˜€

I'm still going through some old images that I wanted to include Chandra data for but have only recently learned how. Look here for N49 without x-rays. This time I opted for blue-green to represent x-rays because magenta was already a prominent color in the optical image. It's harder to conflate the two this way.

I will also simply reference this excellent article which more than adequately explains why this object is interesting to view in high energy wavelengths:

North is NOT up, but it almost is. It's only 5.3Β° counter-clockwise from up.

What Firefighting Taught Me About Human Nature After years in the UK Fire Service, I kept seeing people convincing themselves they were making the right choice. That observation became the thematic heart of my sci-fi novel, Judgement.

This week's blog post is about a lesson I learned as a firefighter, and became the theme for #Judgement

Feeling lucky? Pretty much sums up publishing, life, the universe, and everything.
