This is a short accessible language essay (there are swears because its my writing) about why we need to destroy the wealthy class (idea not people) to get out of this shitshow.

definitely, 100% deserves your love and commitment.
But yeah, men like you aren't the norm.
Your wife is super lucky to have you.
Statistically in heterosexual relationships, men are more likely than women to abandon their disabled spouses.
I'm *physically* abled (for now) but Jason left me ultimately because I wanted to avoid becoming physically disabled by Covid. π«
Your wife...
"But your husband makes $27k per year. He can support you!"
Yeah, I know in the disability community they say marriage isn't really legal for disabled people until there are no financial penalties for having a spouse.
hospitals in this city and the provincial government HQ is in Toronto as well.
The second attempt to get him ODSP took two years.
Now it's probably worse, especially with Covid straining the entire system.
And ODSP is still not enough money to live on.
Still all ODSP (Ontario Disability Support Program) applications are automatically rejected the first time (something the government will never admit) and the second attempt took about two years.
In Toronto, the part of Canada where doing all of this is the least difficult. We have over 30...
I'm so sorry.
Yeah, the world was ever so slightly less fucked in 2013-2014. And my ex Sean had the advantages of a coordinated team of Toronto based physicians and surgeons with tons of tests and MRIs and insurance documentation for his traumatic brain injury he had in 2011. Slipping on ice...
I've had to hold my partners hand through these processes and the truth of this is overwhelming, I've never come closer to ending someone than I was the interviewer for her disability benefits.
A drawn rendition of an Egyptian taskmaster whipping a slave. The slave says "I disapprove of this system." The taskmaster replies "Then why are you participating in it?"

Even if you think, incorrectly, that this repulsive technology has any place in mainstream culture, maybe it gives you pause that the worst people in the world are hell bent on making you use it.
Immunity debt's "...explanatory power has faded as the number of non-covid infections has kept rising each year...
A growing number of scientists believe that the SARS-CoV-2 virus may instead be subtly altering our immune systems." ππ·medsky
My parents were free-wheeling Boomers convinced things were only ever going to get better, financially. They had good reason, then. They could afford a house, car, and weekly nights out on two full time assistant manager jobs at a fast food chain. But they also got caught up in emulating wealth trap
I just got a "Decomputing" talk accepted by a very tech-focused business conference (as a Keynote even) and a labor rights organization who wanted me to propose a talk instantly went for the "The Luddites were right" suggestion. Two things that a few months ago would not have been possible I think.
like i have been saying, if you have ADHD you should be standing with trans people on their medical rights for basic moral and solidarity reasons but also the practical reason that you can fight at their barricade or you can fight at ours but it's the same fight
Persistently annoyed by liberal refusal to see the longstanding system of immigration, the one that effectively places undocumented workers outside of the protections of labor law and subjects them to racial terror, as a strategy of labor discipline that affects all workers.
every time I see an A-list actor in an ad for some slot machine phone game, I think about how Bill Murray's character in Lost in Translation doing advertisements is framed as basically the highest form of humiliation an actor could go through.
All of the covid cautious people in Canada probably wouldnβt fill a cruise ship, especially because weβd refuse to board it
