every normal persons “if i was rich” would go toward helping human society, absolutely i am in that boat, but my fantasy fun money involves a bunch of cats because awww kitty :3

this is not a business idea, this is purely a money sink and it’s just so i can fill my desire to take care of every stray cat in existence.

enormously rich people do NOT know how to spend their money. yachts, private jets, etc. those are all BORING.

if i was rich, my selfish spending would go toward building a hotel for cats. i would spend a ton on staff so every single cat is pampered to the point their adoptive home is WORSE.

also this isn’t to say animals with health issues aren’t worth taking care of, it is more of not supporting the breeding industry that exacerbates the issues.

instead of buying tiny small breed dogs that may have health issues due to their size maybe adopt any random cat that is typically small at adult size. lots of 6-8 pounders in the world looking for a home :3

omg i cry looking at my cats LOL they’re just too sweet and i get SO emotional wondering if they’re happy enough or thinking about their shelter days (which were actually super short, both cats when we asked about them the shelter said they only had them for a day so they didn’t know them well)

also whenever i see it used by someone who is nd or appeared to be a likeminded mutual at first, it is not even being used in a way to self describe or reclaim. it’s literally just insulting people so that just comes off as classic slur usage to me.

i’ll be the millionth person to express their discomfort with the perceived resurgence of this word and i cannot believe my eyes and ears. people who are compassionate and awesome are suddenly saying it. people i’ve known for a long time. it’s dizzying.

if i see someone saying the r word im unfollowing. i really don’t care if you’re reclaiming it. im not gonna tell a neurodivergent person what they can and can’t reclaim but i stand firm that im allowed to feel deeply uncomfortable with a word that feels so dehumanizing and not empowering at all.

my idea of a prank is asking my spouse if we can rename the cats and then suggesting mid-low tier names

also 9-5 is such a lie 😭 it’s like 9-6 or 8-6 in many cases. not even counting 12 hour shifts for healthcare workers.

when someone around you passes away young it really makes you wonder if all this working is worth it. 9-5. commute. meetings. stress.

i think abt this every year if i should be mentioning lny vs cny, i think wishing everyone a happy lny is good because many of my friends are non-chinese w/ lunar ny traditions ^^ but if i want to celebrate any specific NY i try my best to differentiate.

this is in case someone is out here thinking i'm exclusionary for posting about chinese new year.... i'm not.... i'm just not celebrating other lny traditions due to not being part of those cultures. but of course i support and love all new years traditions!
