Untamed Earth Map The Untamed Earth map is a point-of-reference for all things weird, spooky and outlandish - regardless of where you are on earth.

Really enjoyed your Norwich show ❤️ You mentioned ghost signs and ghosts so I thought this map of the weird and wonderful might be of interest untamed.earth (it's my labour of love)

If you zoom in to the top of the picture of Olie, you can see a spooky lady! 🔍

Denied. Evil Knievel is already wordplay. If I remember correctly, he got the moniker to chime with his one time cellmate Awful Kernoffel #nojoke

I was hedging my bets based on museum labels (I didn't want to state they were older and it be misleading) ,😁

A mortsafe at Aylsham, Norfolk. Protecting Thomas Stoneham and Ann Balls. The safes were generally moved from grave to grave and, as far as I know, this is the only intact one in Norfolk. The burials are at the end of the ‘grave-robbing era’ which may explain why this mortsafe came to rest here.

Hey Kevin, I'm not seeing a St Michaels in Addingham. Double checking as I thought there was a hogsback at St Michaels near Lowther

Looking down at the flat top of a single column. The inner two edges (where they meet the next column are very neat with just a few millimeters gap) - the outer edges are rougher, as they are being weathered away.

Basalt columns are a striking geological feature, caused by large lava flows slowly cooling; so wherever they're found - it's a sure sign of volcanic activity in the past.

Stone steps lead down to the level of an old lava tunnel. The roof is partially collapsed but part of the tunnel remains at one end.

Who isn't tempted by a big cave entrance - this one the outskirts of Rèkyavik is a collapsed lava tunnel!

Just catching up, and was reminded of 🎶 "a shiver of sharks is just enough to give your kids a treat, a shiver of sharks is just enough until it's time to eat, is full of of maritime goodness and very small and neat..." 🎶 etc

The museum plaques suggested that some of the heads resemble fish (makes sense as it was a river-side community) so perhaps there's a water link with the well too! 🐟

"The Twelve Apostles" is the first stone circle I've visited in a long while. Also made sure to see some of the many cup-and-ring marked boulders while up on Ilkley Moor. 📷 my own and CC0

Rather than sticks - the version I like is when they used to take the youngsters of the village, turn them upside down and (gently) tap their heads on the boundary markers - literally putting the knowledge into their heads! 😀
