I really enjoyed what R.I. Pienaar is doing with choria-cm.dev and building Config Mgmt system. It's using some existing experience from previous systems, like Puppet but most importantly keeping it simple and extensible. π

This is a great example of the evolution of #NATSio implementations, from simple stateless use to JetStream persistence and work queues.
Thank you @systeminit.com for trusting NATS and Synadia π₯°
Had a week and a half of just gale winds and rain. Finally calmed down to some nice weather for exploring

Boy wants to make a board game, so we're testing out some ideas using DALL-E. One part means going to the cow farm for some leather. This is the farm it made, lol those carrots. But also whats going on around the cows?
Still, beats drawing this stuff so its good to go for early POC work
Was at the school winter fair.
Santa had to be banished because he got drunk and became handsy with the moms.
Fun times lol
Wife got a Cricut maker machine, and wow its the walliest walled garden imaginable.
If you make a design in its tool the only way to get it out is via screenshots of each layer and using Inkscape to trace the layers to SVG
The Iron only works if you activate it in the app etc. Wow.
You've asked for it .. we created it ... You can now get your CfgMgmtCamp Swag ..
Order it at shop.cfgmgmtcamp.org !
Someone submitted https://phare.io to my https://free-for.dev list, worth a mention here.
Hobby tier website availability monitoring that's essentially unlimited in all ways, if you have a bunch of websites it seems worth a look.
PSA: donβt drop water on your POE π
Fun times to be a tourist lol
You can append "/rss" to any #Bluesky profile url to get an #RSS feed of that user.
For example, if I do this with my friend @mentat.za.net 's bluesky url, I get bsky.app/profile/ment... - this will forward to bsky.app/profile/did:... which I can subscribe to using any RSS feed reader!
Made a modular workbench for our RC cars.
Magnetic base to keep things from rolling around.
Adjustable height by having different length mid section support.
Modular vehicle base that can support different cars with different platforms that rotates with a click-in-place system.
I don't really get on with FreeCAD but it's super important that it exists, v1 released.

This kept me from using Bluesky for a long time. You can't change this on the default client, but I know that Skeets has a setting for loading new skeets above that should give you the behaviour your after. I'm really hoping this comes to more clients soon.
How do I make the blusky client not jump to the top on refresh arg worst UI pattern.
Some RC car fun this morning.
I dont even think most people would mind a statement along the lines of spelling out its purely about money - honesty matters, this is just "we think you're too dump to see through our bullshit" level of statement.
There are now first community built packages here overlookinfratech.com/2024/11/13/f...
This will hopefully help - however expect major changes, Puppet Enterprise is now the high risk and untreatable option for running Puppet as community modules are untestable on it in the long run.
There has been a bunch of faff about Puppet licensing - essentially a "soft" relicensing of code and restricting access to built binaries etc www.puppet.com/blog/open-so...
