We definitely have had challenges with venues in SF. The challenge being, they have a narrow view of "queer culture" that centers or is safe for white gay men (pop, electronic, and that aesthetic that does not value how many of us grew up - we look good for us because everyone else told us we were ugly and had no class.) So when they do work with Black & Brown folks, they work with the ones who are "safe" and don't express identity & culture in ways that make those white people feel excluded.

1) consonants make the word sound active & forceful (masculine strength)

2) creates an illusion of precision and therefore expertise (masculine aspiration)

3) is not common so it feels like the language of an exclusive club you wish you were in (masculine desire)
