On second thought, a year ago wouldβve been much better timing.

This would be a good time for someone in the Democratic party to point out that Republicans are always terrible for the economy. Hoover, Bush, Bush the 2nd, Trump... Not Ike, but he was the one with the 90% tax bracket.

Is that the one you sourced from Albany?
Something actually positive for your feed: Rosa Chang's incredible work envisioning and actually creating what will be a 9-acre (!) park in lower Manhattan. She's kind of the anti-Robert Moses, and gives me hope. I interviewed her for the Rosenfeld Review: soundcloud.com/rosenfeld-me...
Are you a UX designer, researcher, writer? Or a product person? Are you using AI in your work in productive, innovative ways?
We're looking for great case studies for Designing with AI 2025 conference; call for proposals are due January 10: rosenfeldmedia.com/designing-wi...
How'd you rewire yourself to think this way? Figure out how to bottle it and lots of us will pay!
We humans generally focus far more on the bad things than the good. If you could take a pill to invert that tendency, would you? The bad things would still be happening, but your attention would be consumed by the positive stuff. Would you sign up for that?
Beautiful!
Thought experiment: it's 2016. Trump enters the Democratic primary. (Not crazy talk; arguably his "anti-establishment" platform overlapped with Bernie's.)
Does Trump win the Democratic primary?
How would he then fare against, say, Jeb?

Purple background with snow on ground. Images of Rosenfeld books floating in back. Large rotating dark purple snowflake contains text "Get up to 56% off over 30+ books." At bottom, reads "Ends December 8 at midnight EST"

I also suffer from this odd notion that slashing government institutions' budgets, then criticizing them for poor performance, and then cutting their budgets further isn't exactly smart public policy.
Pleasantly surprised: applied to renew my passport with the US State Department. Confirmation email said to anticipate 4-6 week turnaround. Fresh new passport arrived 8 days after applying.
I like to think that some clever #CivicDesign folks had something to do with this...
Reminds me of my beloved uncle Howie, who was famous (in our circles, at least) for his motto: βitβs not importantβ.
It's not every week we launch a brand new conference! Excited to be diving into #ServiceDesign with a couple hundred fellow travelers at #ASD2024 (virtual; Dec. 3-4). You can still buy a ticket; also, we have free sponsored events that are actually really great: rosenfeldmedia.com/advancing-se...
Thatβs great to know. Iβve asked many ethnographers and, oddly, got a blank look. Can you point me to any examples?
Iβd love to see some examples if you can share them!
In this case, I guess hindsight isnβt 20/20. Iβm not really sure, but I wish Iβd spoken with people who had more CMS experience.
I came up with a term that I thought was clever: "corporate cartography". (I'd like someone to write a book on making sense of/mapping large organizations). But dangit, pretty much everything out there is about... mining. π€
We tried World Spa recently and loved it. Might be a little out of your way though. Also, love the Russian spas, even if theyβre not luxe. Fantastic food!
Thanks for sharing this thread, Andrew.
