After all the prevaricating from the Government, it was refreshing to read a clear assertion from an expert: these actions are illegal

LOL when I was a teenager I actually owned a flame-speckled Charvel of this vintage with a reverse headstock⦠not my finest hour
Wow.
Some absolutely appalling videos emerging of NSW Police actions last night. Repeatedly punching restrained people, dragging people away who were praying (!?).
People werenβt rioting, they were just trying to march. The Police brought the violence.
Utterly indefensible @chrisminnsmp.bsky.social
Awful news. Jon was brilliant.
Kinda cool they managed to print the symbols rather than just call the album βLed Zeppelin IVβ like everyone else did

Amazon have just announced their next blockbuster movie release:
Melania 2: Electric Boogaloo
Watching a livestream of the MFA shows what its rally about.
Chants of βforeigners outβ, βsend them backβ, and overhearing a guy joking they should take over Vic Parliament House βlike they did at the White House on January 6β (yes he got the building wrong)
Itβs actually been cool to see everyone post their fave Midnight Oil videos in the last dayβ¦ there are some great 80s gigs captured on YouTube I hadnβt ever seen before
Vale Rob Hirst.
I grew up in the 90s and so didnβt really dig Midnight Oil during the era of alternative music. Then I saw them live at a festival gig and was blown away by how great they were.
There is no other drummer who could make that band sound like they did.

This thread is absolutely wild
Hah! He was also the housemate of one of my lifelong friends back then⦠still releasing new music now I think

This is cool - their first TV performance on the classic Letterman late night show. Iβve always liked Radio Free Europe and this is a good version youtu.be/dW62Q0TTgS0?...
Hello there #ShakeShack Australia
Popped out to buy dinner ingredients in this crazy 40C+ weather, and could barely stand to be outside for 10 minutes.
I have absolutely no idea how firefighters manage to do their job on days like today - they absolutely deserve our thanks

It is a good spot
My parents decided to buy their first air con unit when they came home on a hot day and I was just lying in a starfish pose on the kitchen tiles! I think Iβd been there for an hour or more
This is an excellent thread if youβre anxious about SE Australiaβs upcoming heatwave and donβt have access to / the financial ability to run your own air con
Iβm self-sufficient nowadays, but as a teenager HATED the heat and had no way to escape it. I dreaded Summer.
I donβt support the ban but I think the HC challenge is a bit tenuousβ¦ Iβd be surprised if the HC found our rights to political communication require all forms of communicating to be accessible just in case someone wants to use them for political discussion
Still, the lawyers are smarter than I!
βRevealedβ is one of my least-favourite media words when they are just publishing information.
Also βbundled outβ whenever a tennis player is beaten in a tournament (oddly specific, I know!)

Oh OK so was it pager broadcasts heβd accessed on a scanner? Even then, you wouldnβt routinely send heaps of private medical data via pager I wouldnβt have thought?
Iβm more wondering why that data was being sent on a frequency in the first placeβ¦ a data link? (They are normally secure out of the box)
Just curious to know what exactly heβd picked up with the scanner, at what frequency and how was it modulatedβ¦ like, what WAS it
The tech details arenβt really the point of the article butβ¦ how on earth do you use a radio scanner to receive patient data? Who was transmitting them and why?
Maybe he was physically in the middle of a private radio data link or something?
It also now has the same name as their hardware product. I own an Apple TV but I donβt subscribe to Apple TV. Genius.
