Stats show most of our listeners use Spotify, and I'm curious why. Personally I prefer Apple Podcasts, largely I think because it's the nicest UI (to my eyes, anyway)

Annoyingly, I feel like making some cassettes is cheap enough to make it worth doing even if only a handful of people are interested… but it means they all need something to play them on first which can be pricey and isn’t easy.

I mean god, podcatchers might be the last place in the world where we could watch video free of the algorithms of places like YouTube and TikTok, the solution is right there and always has been, but no one wants to reach out and grab it.

This article makes some good points, but I don't understand why so many people talk about this issue without highlighting that it's a self-inflicted problem.

Like... Just release video podcasts? The apps do video. They always have.
