Unfinished mandala art with markers on my desk
Doing art so that I will not be doing anything else.
Bluesky (the protocol+app) is a great idea and I can't wait for it to grow beyond Bluesky (the company).
This is so silly
Is it true that Gallup plans to stop tracking approval ratings of political figures? Why? That's a terrible idea. Itβs crucial for citizens in a democracy to have the ability to voice their opinions of the leaders theyβve elected and make those opinions known. As a longtime Gallup pollster, Iβm ashamed that youβd even consider cutting off this important marker of American political feeling. Please reconsider. Thank you!
I'm a Gallup pollster. You can contact them at galluppanel@gallupmail.com to let them know what you think of this.
The risks come not from Super Intelligence, just from Regular Stupidity.

I paid 12 million for the email summary machine that tells me I am good at stuff and I am shocked I have yet to make a return on my investment. The email summary machine that tells me I am good at stuff told me it was a good decision too. Shocked. Shocking.
Wow it turns out by not following that guy I don't have to see his posts. Not that I disagree, I just wouldn't engage with it here.
Cat wandered in front of the camera during the #aurora long exposure
Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.
I want a dislike button just for this
Ok wtf
I draw a smiley face with x eyes on Charlie Kirk drinks.
It is what you make it. I follow lots of science communicators and software hobbyists and it's great.
Don't let the torment nexus drag you down!
Different bean, but don't go to Starbucks either! (till we get a contract)
The game show gimmicks were cute once, but don't make for a great show.
Linux nerds need to adopt UX/product nerds already. A command, config file, or terminal app for every problem is just bad problem solving. I desperately want to be treated like a user instead of a tinkerer.
The vibes people are obsessed with the vibes machine
RT IF YOU SEE YOUR BARISTA ππ₯ Starbucks has amassed more unfair labor practice complaints than any company in modern history, so we're on ULP strike! We're demanding higher pay, better scheduling, and an end to union-busting. #NoContractNoCoffee
Starbucks workers are striking for a contract and here is Dytrex using a clever and very effective strategy to deter customers from crossing the picket line.

Still not a great idea. You leave yourself vulnerable to the real people in your life who have physical access to that paper.
Nothing beats a real password manager. More secure and convenient.
This honestly sounds like a great use case for an evolutionary algorithm. Especially if you're not interested in perfection.
- Generate neighbor-finding functions
- Run on a bunch of long test sequences
- Slightly modify the good functions
- Repeat
Is that @ayliean.bsky.social doing the voice over?
I would love to see what this looks like on hair geometry
You do not, under any circumstances, "gotta hand it to them"
A Melitta funnel and a kettle is like $30. Smaller, easier to clean, and you can use a kettle for other things.
I'm dizzy
I had the same thought before I started used a mac. Then I got a Mac and it just feels more natural. Browser, IDE, and Slack are all full screen and everything doesn't need to be that important.
I think Windows' square corners and tall menu bars feel too bulky to justify being smaller.
