I concur.
Facts! π―
Do you think "radical" democracy is practiced anywhere today? I think "representative democracy" that is constrained by the Constitution's protection for individual rights has pushed Direct Democracy aside. Jefferson thought so too.
Public school kids know that. What is your point? You said "the world" has turned its back on democracy and that is why they hate America and Americans. I suggest that it is the fascist-leaning authoritarian in the White House that has turned America's back on democracy. That's why America is hated.
Respectfully, you lost me with that narrative. Maybe it's the grade school puncuation. Are you trying to say that the free world no longer supports democracy and that's why they distrust America now? What is the source of that kind of reasoning?
Got it. I'm sure Cher feels the same way.
If you are referencing Manin's The Principles of Representative Democracy, I read it during my 2nd year. It was actually recommended reading from my professor. Very scholarly written and insightful. Not fully on board, however. But still lots of time to learn. My views will change only if valid.
I support 'progressive conservatism'. Best comparison is perhaps Eisenhower. But, I am also flexible on issues that I deem should be outside the parameters of government policy. Social issues primarity, which I feel should be individual choices and rights. I oppose totalitariansim in all forms.

You shouldn't compare him and defame gypsies like that. Or, for that matter, snake oil salesman.
Hmmm.
If you bet he would attend, you should lose. π€£
True. He declared early he would be unable to attend. I don't know the reasons. Trump did not respond, his white house issued a decline.
A blessing and a slap in the face all rolled into one Trumpian response. No one was upset he did not show, but the disrespect is blatant.
Obviously hated by MAGA and far-right Republicans. Seems like a decent and educated patriot, but not seasoned enough or experienced to be electable. I wish I am wrong.
Who "will feel the heavy price for not protecting Democracy"?
They don't do that now? Shocking!
Who is recieving funding and from whom?
Attached is Carney's position. Read it and learn. Educate yourself about the facts and stop relying on your pretentious wish-based and fallacious opinion.
And, you do not have the knowledge or authority to suggest I do anything.
Dismissed.
Honoring the wish of Rev. Jackson, his family formally invited Donald Trump to both attend and speak at his memorial funeral.
Rob Reiner would have turned 79 today. He is missed.
This conversation with Rich Eisen β talking about directing Nicholson in βA Few Good Menβ β is always a delight.

It's Friday and I am attending College. So, it's PIZZA NIGHT. Nothing better than cold, stale pizza for breakfast.
We're off to Sally's for Pizza and stuff.
Later, mes amis.
I'm sure no one is upset he did not show. But, the disprespect is still a slap in the face to the family.
Trump attending a funeral is a threat to somebody?
And, QUITE frightening....
Now, that's nasty.
He was invited.
Maybe you should ask the family. Could it be that showing decency and civility is the proper way to reject hatred? Or, do you think disrespecting those who oppose you and with whom you disagree and treating them like they treat you is a better course of action?
This is a "War Crime" in my opinion.

FYI - Carney never held elected office or ran for office or considered himself a "politician" until Trump threatened his country. And acknowledging his acheivements is not in any way 'celebratizing' him. Maybe you need to be less judgmental and more realistic.
