Journalists covering protests in #Turkey #Serbia and #Georgia are particularly exposed to violence at the hands of law enforcement officers. Women journalists are also increasingly subjected to verbal and physical abuse because of their gender. Those responsible must be brought to justice. 🧵

#Netherlands: Today the Dutch journalists' union @nvj.nl together with writers' organisations are sending a letter to Meta to demand that the company cease using illegal data sources and offering AI models trained on them in Europe.
As the SafeJournalists Network declared, "Allowing BHRT to collapse due to political inaction would represent a historic failure to uphold democratic standards and media freedom in #Bosnia and #Herzegovina." The right of citizens to access public information must be safeguarded.
