worse
man, who got into his ear with this shit today
like, mullin is stupid and loud even by the standard of oklahoma congressmen
can't blame her; also might not matter, i'm not sure he makes it out of committee
he's 62! that's enough time for One Last Job
top undersecretary position is currently vacant with an acting undersecretary, lol
lol, lmao, i didn't even realize this, he's not getting out of committee
there's a primary
senate is where ambition goes to die and mullin is nothing if not ambitious. he's also just bored, he's not a legislation guy.
hell, *i* remember it, and i'm not *that* old
my suspicion is that they think mullin's the only one who would a) take it, and b) could get confirmed
only one they think they can get confirmed, at least
i don't think he wants it, but i agree that this is one way they could win it
temperamentally, i'm not sure there's a single worse choice in the entire senate to throw into an agency that stephen miller is running in all but name; mullin gets absurdly angry at even the *suggestion* that anyone else gets to tell him what to do, he's, like, notably oppositional defiant
i don't think it's very likely that oklahoma would elect a dem senator, but in what's looking to be a blue wave election with a catastrophically unpopular economy and war, pulling a safe seat senator out and throwing the midterm into chaos with no clear front-runner is the best chance we get
he has no law enforcement background, he doesn't even sit on the homeland security committee, he's never held a public sector executive role, the largest org he's ever run is a family plumbing business, like, hegseth is arguably more qualified at DOD than mullin would be for DHS
actually can't quite get over what a poor choice mullin is for this role, in basically every way, and not just for us โ for the administration, too.
i think he's potentially willing to be even worse than noem, but i also think he's significantly more likely to beat the shit out of stephen miller in the oval office at some point
imagine it probably varies depending on the campaign and how much money it has
i'm glad noem got shitcanned, but it's probably worth mentioning that markwayne mullin is legitimately even less qualified to run DHS than noem is. noem at least had executive experience.
five years out from retirement
i mean, the answer's obviously yes
seems bad
cyberpunk future keeps creeping in, bit by bit
i'm generally a pretty open-minded eater, but i think this one's a no from me
oh it couldn't have been that long a... oh... oh no
lmao i saw a review of this earlier and *knew* it would be on your list
something's very definitely going on at fox news HQ
just went and read it, and, man, they sure did
