We got tricked by science fiction into thinking a futuristic city is all about flying cars and crystal towers and hologram billboards but what it really looks like is nice apartment blocks, good mass transit, pedestrian zones with shade trees and safe bike lanes.

This this this this this. If I could disillusion abled people of one idea about disability, it's the idea that when you get sick, doctors will actually help you. This is almost always an abject lie, so much so that we all pass around the names of doctors who will like they're magic spells.

A New Report Exposes the Network of Extremist Groups Behind the Anti-Trans PR Machine Researchers stressed that anti-LGBTQ+ disinformation is part of a larger reactionary conservative movement.

“In a sweeping new report, researchers at the Southern Poverty Law Center say they have identified a network of more than 60 organizations pushing anti-LGBTQ+ disinformation, as well as 100 of their most common sources of “junk” science…”

Not a surprising read, but still terrifying.

I keep thinking about how Certain People don’t want us to teach even the bare minimum version of US history anymore because (they claim) the truth will make people feel ashamed and so it’s woke or something stupid like that.
