Though honestly, even S1 Izzy is a saint compared to my usual faves. He's just a scheming murderer with a tiny bit of a temper, is that really so wrong?

Now being a fan of OG!Shen QingQiu for example, *that* is a trial.

Even the creators felt this urge when making S2 of OFMD and that's why I prefer fics that use S1 characterization for Izzy. The fantasy is the idea that a prickly shithead who makes tons of mistakes can still deserve happiness🥺 (No, YOU are the one projecting, shut up!)

The problem with being so fond of shitty little guys is that authors often feel the (quite understandable) need to whitewash them. But no! I love them being awful! It's their main attraction! If they are just a misunderstood woobie they are still quite cute but not as interesting.

The light is so well done! I love the little bit of red where it hits the trees🤩 It's just so... aghhh😍😍😍

-Spent minutes looking for cell, it was in my hand
-Accidentally served cat food to the dog and dog food to the cats
-Threw the peas into the sink instead of the pot of food
-Misplaced a whole basket of holiday treats for 3 days

On the one hand, with mum doing better, I have been able to tidy more. On the other hand, I'm so distracted and I tidied so much that now I can't find my sketchbooks.

Other greatest hits of my traitorous brain recently:

If you can stomach it, there's a fifth and final season that's already been filmed but has yet to be aired. Latest season was the fourth with Hemsworth!Geralt.
Jaskier is indeed the best part of the show, still pissed they butchered the friendship so much! Those 2 ADORE each other😭

However, the impatient fan might have more luck watching the first season of the TV series. It's almost tolerable if you put it in the background while doing something else (but stop at S1 and save yourself the pain!)

Overall, I'd say the books are the better of all 3 access points to the franchise. They should be ideally read in order of publication and also tackled before playing the games.

Geralt is such a sweetheart and all the friendships are great! Also, lots of VERY funny lines. However, the translation can be clunky and it's especially noticeable in the first book. Don't go into them expecting simple monster hunting fantasy series or exclusive focus on Geralt, though.

The books: Very readable and fun! Haven't finished them yet but that's more of an issue of me being distractible not a reflection of their quality. I love how a lot of things are left a bit ambiguous and the use of fairy tales as basis for some plot elements.

However, as someone with a huge tolerance for the male gaze, even I got sick of it halfway through. Yes, yes, we all love tits but must EVERY woman be either a whore or a hag?
Ok, there's also another kind of woman I'll admit: the ones you can fuck to add to your collection of sex trading cards😑

The games: Played most of 1 before losing my saved progress but will surely start again and finish the series. The first game is much more playable than people say and pretty good looking with the correct mods. Perfectly easy to play even with shit reflexes.

The Witcher. Personal opinions on the franchise:

The TV show: Starts at awful quality and goes downhill from there, every subsequent season is EXPONENTIALLY worse. Only watched 2 seasons. Season 1 still has excellent music, ok costumes and decent casting, though.
