😳 was mij ook niet bekend. Even nader nagezocht, maker is Ilya Zverev, wonend/werkend in Estland (geen idee waarom weg uit ru), openstreetmap ontwikkelaar sinds 2010, source code inzichtelijk via github, .ru server schijnt van hemzelf te zijn. Mss geen directe ‘no go’ maar bezwaar begrijpelijk

Echter, vanuit ‘analysis paralysis’ alles bij het oude laten helpt ook niet.
Voor niet-cruciale oplossingen juist kiezen voor 🇪🇺, is al een goede 1e stap. Zo bouwen we expertise en markt hier, houden we specialisten hier, en kunnen we cruciale systemen in toekomst wel zelf ontwikkelen en beheren.
Interessante aflevering, bedankt voor het delen. Lastige afweging, ene kwetsbaarheid inruilen voor de andere, heeft idd weinig nut. Dus rücksichtlos alle Amerikaanse systemen inruilen voor de eerste de beste cowboy die toevallig Europees is, is inderdaad ook niet de oplossing.
Probably easiest way to improve quality & usability of #OpenStreetMap based maps and #navigation apps is by updating current status, website, (and opening hours) of frequently searched points of interest (POIs) like #restaurants & shops.
For example with every-door.app for iOS or Android.

OsmAnd is complex enough to scare away average users who prefer simplicity and ease of use.

And basically everything can be updated through the iD editor on www.openstreetmap.org.
