When politicians don't honor their promises, our work is to make them. To do that, we have to build enough power to make them. I understand why people get disappointed but this is unfortunately how things work in politics.

They're going to write books about all the big brain moves of this gang of imbeciles and among them will be "Spending a year trying to kill renewable energy and then launching a war that sends oil prices soaring"

That the removal of a corporate tax break which would have cost the state $550M survives in this final income tax proposal is great news for everyday people of our state. As more Washingtonians make use of popular programs, we must continue pressing the issue of taxing corporate and personal wealth.

One of my old-school conservative views is that the government has no business being involved in college sports or any sports.

That’s out of fashion.

The slurs somehow have more agency than the Republicans.

The β€œNYT actually assigns agency to the people doing the thing” headline challenge remains unwon.

Even if every official in the government followed US laws and norms to the letter, that would not give them any right to attack other countries.

For those who may not remember, funding an adversary in a proxy war in Afghanistan was a big part of how the US bankrupted the Soviet Union.

Even if it takes years, we have to bring EVERYONE who made this happen to justice. No moving on, no letting this go.

Revenge is good enough motivation for me personally, but the nobler and important reason is to ensure that anyone who thinks of doing this again knows they’ll rot in prison for it.

The Trump Administration can’t even impose its will on Minneapolis when the full force of the federal government was focused on it, but surely they will be able to pacify and remake Iran, a nation of 90 million people halfway around the world.

I’m sure if Biden posted late one Sat night that he wanted the governor of Louisiana to rush a hospital ship to Greenland for a serious medical emergency in their populace at a time when we had no hospital ships available and there was no emergency the media would also ignore it.

Where things stand with the Department of War A statement from Dario Amodei

I think one of the most staggering industry shifts in my 16 years as a tech reporter is that it’s not become a question of β€œshould our product help the government kill and/or surveil people?” but β€œto what extent?”

I will miss Kristi Noem's inimitable constitutional insights, as when, asked by Sen. Maggie Hassan, D-N.H. at a Senate hearing to define "habeas corpus," she replied, "Habeas corpus is a constitutional right that the president has to be able to remove people from this country."

The U.S. at the last minute pulled out of the exercise and instead attacked the Iranian ship with a torpedo
