A Charlie Brown Christmas discount I am ashamed to say that I've had this year's Hallmark edition ofΒ A Charlie Brown Christmas sitting in my living room waiting to be reviewed for months, amidst my hectic life. It was hoping to do a video review (and I may still). But had I known I was going to wait for this long to get around with it, I might have saved myself some money and bought it at the after-Christmas sale. Yes, this book-that-interacts-with-the-included-stuffed-Snoopy is now half off.... and given that it originally cost north of sixty bucks, that's a major savings.

Cover to a Portugese biography of Peanuts creator Charles Schulz by Marcos Rozeno fetures a blatanly AI/LLM image of what is supposed to be Schulz sitting at the side of a drawing table which is either at an angle or flat depending on which part you are looking at. His left hand is poised to draw with a stylus, his right arm is going into the drawing table and through a drawing of Charlie Brown and a one-eyed Snoopy.

On the machine there's a figure of Snoopy and a figure of a snowman, and each are wearing red hats made up of a series of ever smaller red rings. A text note marks it as 1979. The Word Is That You Need Not Seek Hard For Peanuts Word Seeks I just noticed a good deal in back issues of Peanuts Word Seeks magazine, for those who may want them for their collection (or just are facing a shortage of words.) The publisher will send you a dozen back issues for $16.95 plus shipping. I expect these will all be the regular digest-sized issues rather than the Big Book volumes. They have a somewhat cheaper 8 book set, but don't order both, as they will likely overlap in issues, and you'll end up with words you've already sought and found.

Vertical Peanuts 8-panel Clipping found in The Buffalo News published in Buffalo, New York on 8/31/1954. Vertical Peanuts 8-panel

One of the selling points of early Peanuts was that the four panels were all the same size, so it could be stacked vertically.

The one time Schulz did an 8-panel strip, this caused an interesting layout. (Hat tip to DD Degg of @dailycartoonist.bsky.social !)

Panel 2: A man in a dark suit pass Homer. Homer shouts at him "Charlie Brown!!!" Panel three. Homer says "Remember me? We met at the men's club meeting --" to which Charlie responds "Oh, sure!
