We spent the week sending it down the slopes and the evenings just being… us. Authentic. Safe.

As an organizer, I can build the framework, but the magic only happens when the people fill in the spaces.

Welp. My departure is sending _WAVES_ through my region's tech team. I don't think upper management realized how much of an icon I was for folks.

Honestly, it feels good in many ways.

And that's that. Meeting tomorrow morning at some point.

SO I CAN TAKE THE REMAINDER OF THE WEEK TO HAVE FUN. AND NOT HAVE TO CHECK SLACK DURING MY SKI TRIP COMING UP!

Downside: Lawyering up time.

So, I guess, if you see me a little "confused" in how I feel tomorrow, well... let this be the explanation.

I wanna see what freedom actually looks like. New adventures. New friendships. Building more inclusive spaces. Taking some much-needed time to decompress.

And then... seeing what comes next.

But I’ve also been "stuck." I’ve let inertia carry me since late 2021 because I was too exhausted to leave.

Losing my sister reshaped my worldview. It put the cost of that inertia, of simply existing in a role I no longer believed in, into sharp focus. Time is the only thing we don't get more of.

Tomorrow looks like the finale for my 8.5-year arc at this job. And honestly? It can’t come fast enough.

I’ve been fighting the script for years, burnt out from trying to build safety nets for my team while leadership actively dismantles the floor to embrace the AI grift.

Well, at minimum, I feel you. It's way early, and being congested and coughy is bleh 😅

I feel you there. In my case... Biological kids are germ magnets :(

Reflecting on this year... most sobering thought: I've sat through 3 people passing right in front of me at this point.

The one that definitely still fucks me up the most is the one with my sister.

Hard not to think about it, having been on that side of standing vigil this year, for my grandpa.

Welp. I guess my ski trip might as well be a con. I have... programming. XD
