As an aside- AI confidently told me that Brompton pedals are secured by a 6 mm hex Allen Key, reality is 8 mm.
With the aid of a colleague who had a 24 mm socket set I was able to change the folding pedal on my Brompton. It had lasted 25 years and the replacement is secured by a more convenient Allen Screw.

Tried to see the lunar eclipse. Unfortunately in Manchester the Moon is eclipsed by the clouds.
I think the feel less welcome is correct because it’s in your face. But, they were there anyway if not feeling emboldened to show themselves before. Like any bullying it is done to get a reaction. Less safe is more difficult to quantify - but on balance it’s unchanged
I understand but they are there to provoke and to capture symbols for their own use.
