My first week as a scholar at St Martin-in-the-Fields!
A bit of chant at the National Gallery Siena exhibition!
MA SVES group at University of York - 2024-5 cohort
I'm still looking for a tenor for the MA in Solo-Voice Ensemble Singing at the U of York this September. A year's course, coaching every week from me and top quality singing lessons (not from me...) Please be in touch if you're interested - and do pass on. Current lot (2 groups) pictured.
An excellent week working with National Youth Choir as a section coach on the 9-15 course!
A great weekend singing Bachβs B Minor mass - first half off copy!
Exciting to be interviewing Suzzie Vango and Stuart Overington on the latest ep of Choral Chihuahua!
This is interesting - I like the idea of a listening guide integrated into the player. www.macrumors.com/2025/03/25/a...

So proud of this concert - watch now on YouTube to see me as a sad Egyptian mummy πΎ

Did you know? By replacing your coffee with green tea, you can lose up to 92% of what little joy you still have left in your life.
This is such an exciting find for #EthelSmyth research! The presumed lost complete manuscript of the Mass in D has been found!!
Congrats on this find, @lisacolton.bsky.social and the archivists @livunilibrary.bsky.social !
What a year as a National Youth Choir Fellow - finished with a concert in London featuring 5 world premieres.

AI or not - these just look a bit wrong, like many images generated by AI.
Besides the images looking weird to begin with, for an organisation that values a high quality of art, itβs difficult to say βwe really care about operaβ while also implying βwe donβt really care about artistsβ. The sub-par quality of the imagery takes away from the quality of the organisation.
Strongly suspect this ENO imagery is AI - the glowing side-lighting, thistle and crown details jumbled like something from a bad dream. If so, Thea Musgrave deserves better, as do opera-goers. Please pay real artists so I don't feel like I'm having a stroke www.eno.org/whats-on/mar...
Disappointing. If ENO believe in the importance of operatic art, they should care equally for visual art.
Crazy to think itβs possible on existing hardware.

Series 10 - amazingly- of Choral Chihuahua starts with Joanna Marsh and her new album. Iβm slightly drunk on her rich textures: hear her talk about matching music to poetry and more. Search Choral Chihuahua to listen for free. New ep every 2 weeks.
Great fun recording a new piece for Oliver Tarney this weekend with @willn0rth.bsky.social
Snow in York!
Lots of fun singing at the Christmas concerts at @royalalberthall.bsky.social this weekend. Spot the 5 gold rings!
This week on Choral Chihuahua - me!

Wow. Here is one to brighten up your morning. The first images of the restored interior of Notre Dame cathedral. Breathtaking. In just five years France did it
Such an interesting session. Thank you very much!
One of the good/bad things about our industry is that change can feel a bit tectonic, so whilst it can seem ages to get something moving, once it starts, it's quite hard to stop.
In York on the 3rd December?
Come to our little Christmas concert and tell us if our minor thirds are high enough.
A great day at the Sing for Pleasure conference yesterday at the Stoller Hall.
Could I be added? Thank you!
What if you answered every question with a song?
We thought @bsky.app would appreciate this clip of Roderick Williams taken from our SingTheScore series on YouTube!
