Michelangelo, the renaissance artist, sculptor, painter and poet, who gave the world David, Pietas, the Sistine Chapel and the soaring dome of St Peters Basilica was born #OTD.
He wrote intense love letters and sonnets to men, notably Tommaso de' Cavalieri.

#OTD Der Eigene's, likely the 1st such gay magazine's, 1st issue hit the shelves. Exploring masculine culture and love between men, it ran until 1931.

Stone Butch Blues by Leslie Feinberg is published. Feinberg said "like my own life, this novel defies easy classification" and has described it as "a lesbian novel and a trans novel".
A heavy but important read for the community, the novel ends hopefully.

Marlowe was one of the prominent literary voices of the Elizabethan era, and his works, including Edward II and Hero & Leander explored queer themes.
