Our broader contribution is to bring together environmental political theory with philosophy of technology. There can be no decarbonisation of our society without a critical examination of the question of technology (our addiction and faith in tech too). I'm excited to discuss it in various forums

In the text, we examine the political, temporal, affective and technological dimensions of the energy transition. We show that net-zero futures are often linked to unquestioned and monolithic understandings of technology. We also point to alternative paths to organise the green transition.

Article: Is Starmer's Labour far right? (Aurelien Mondon) - Reactionary Politics Research Network This article by Aurelien Mondon explores whether the Labour government under Starmer can be considered far right

Is Starmer’s Labour far right?

This question sounds absurd, but today, it is not only necessary but urgent to ask for anyone who still cares about democracy

My thoughts on @reacpolrn.bsky.social

The rise of end times fascism | Naomi Klein and Astra Taylor The governing ideology of the far right has become a monstrous, supremacist survivalism. Our task is to build a movement strong enough to stop them

“We are up against an ideology that has given up not only on the premise and promise of liberal democracy but on the livability of our shared world – on its beauty, on its people, on our children, on other species. The forces we are up against have made peace with mass death.”

‘Headed for technofascism’: the rightwing roots of Silicon Valley The industry’s liberal reputation is misleading. Its reactionary tendencies – celebrating wealth, power and traditional masculinity – have been clear since the dotcom mania of the 1990s

For @us.theguardian.com, I wrote about how Silicon Valley’s right-wing politics go back to the dotcom mania of the 1990s — and how they’re far more central to the tech industry than we’ve previously thought

As someone who has reported on AI for 7 years and covered China tech as well, I think the biggest lesson to be drawn from DeepSeek is the huge cracks it illustrates with the current dominant paradigm of AI development. A long thread. 1/

This is incredibly worrying & dangerous. Looks like a clear indication of how large social media platforms are now actively becoming a part of an #authoritarian shift in US politics & beyond.
