Damn, Arrow Video got me again. And yes, that is "Blackhat", just to finish off my run of Michael Mann movies.

Now hoping for one of your streams with Jack to start with you wearing that "J" hat...
Fun experiment: Show it to someone who only knows him from Marvel stuff.
Watch them have a heart attack...
Sexy Beast (2000) Final Destination: Bloodline (2025) To Live And Die In LA (1985) Wake Up Dead Man (2025)
Quite a body count this week.

We're not that far past the cross-gen years, sure there's still a fair bit to be wrung out of the existing machines.
Not even a "Views are my own" in the bio! Probably because they're a composite of other people's...
Every game dev should be forced to play their game on an actual TV for a minimum of two hours at some point. Not all of us are sat at desks!
Constantly splitting your attention between game, chat and OBS makes it a little trickier.
I will make an attempt to stream on a more regular basis, but here's the end of Assassin's Creed 2...

The fourth-wall break at the end of Assassin's Creed 2 remains absolute Kojima-level madness.
On to "Brotherhood" we go!
Watched it for the first time last week and had a geeat time. It has a darkly farcical side I love. Best laid plans going wrong seems to be a recurring theme ("Panic Room", "Gone Girl").
Or maybe my sense of humour is broken, I've never been on board with the Coens' version of the same thing.
Step 1: Abduct or assassinate any leader you don't like
Step 2: ???????
Step 3: Win Nobel Peace Prize
That the plan, right?
Cover of "The Terminator" BFI Film Classics book, the silhouette of the T-800 with detail of the endoskeleton inside.
Love that the "BFI Modern Classics" are being reprinted (as "Film Classics"), I have a stack of the originals.
Picked up the volumes on "Seven" and "Silence of the Lambs", and the new cover of "The Terminator" is phenomenal.

Sure is. It's been an absolute lifesaver for me.
...and the random shout-out to one of my favorite movies.
Also, David Fincher's "The Killer" got pushed out of the four. That's a solid 4-star movie so I need to mention it.
Josh Brolin kept turning up in stuff this week. Good for him.

"The Scarlet Pimpernel" by Baroness Orczy. "Why I Write" by George Orwell. "Silence of the Lambs" (BFI Film Classics) by Yvonne Tasker
Fresh reading, just delivered. I've got into the habit of keeping one fiction and one non-fiction book on the go, then picking up whichever I'm in the mood for. Helps me read more frequently.

I don't have a guilty pleasure movie because I refuse to feel guilty for liking something I enjoy.
Having to jack up the price of Game Pass to hit ridiculous profit margins, then the price of components goes through the roof after they announced the next XBOX would be a "high-end" machine?
To me, this felt like a matter of time.
It's the odd-one-out here, a 1990 cyberpunk movie. Bigger on vibes than plot, but if you dig "Tesuo: The Iron Man" or maybe "Johnny Mnemonic" it's worth seeking out.
Lots of experts doing things professionally, with varying results

YOU'RE a hoot and a half!
NOT a political post but i think anyone who describes their morning routine in more than 2 sentences should be investigated by the FBI. you woke up and ate food. we dont need the lore
(Akira Yamaoka blasts through arena speakers) BY GOD, THAT'S JAMES SUNDERLAND'S MUSIC! AND HE'S CARRYING A METAL PIPE!!
I have, in the year of our lord 2026, just bought an MP3 player. Need to return to listening to actual albums.
That's as far backwards as I can go though, cassettes were always trash.
I take it all back. OBS was mangling my audio in a really stupid way.
Good job they changed it to 1st-person, this is obviously a Wigan Simulator.
No less than three absolute messes this week (not intentional!). At least we have Sam Raimi back making the good stuff.

It seems appropriate that the movie version has the same name, same fundamentalbform but has been changed in essential ways. Looking forward to reading the rest of the Southern Reach series.
