to my knowledge blacksky is the only group i'm aware of that manages its own community outside of bsky corpo, would love to know if there are others trying to start

i forgot to mention in my ramble in the comments: you can also keep it simple and use blacksky's web app. this is probably the thing most would like to know if your main concern is about the bsky corpo shoving posts (or ads..?) you never signed up to see

you don't have to choose blacksky either, there are a number of different groups that offer their own PDS (for free, altho these things do cost money so donate whenever you can)

your data (aka all your shitposts and art) don't have to be in bsky's clutches at all if you don't want them to be
