Couldn't agree more! Most of them aren't even really considering how many random results each die size can individually generate, just that it *is* capable of (often weighted) random results easily distinguished.

Nuance concentrate: Game genres folk constantly argue are so different are so damn similar in what is expected from all the players. Often one person being in charge as martyr-like figure of fun and mystique enigma of worldknowledge, which immediately refuses anarcho-commune structures of play!!

A large portion of the design space and hobby that seem so disparate have a heaping overlap of core unchallenged assumptions regarding what TTRPGs exactly look like that is based off a single style most popular amongst cishet white men — thus damaging & diminishing marginalized expression in it.
