He didn’t learn to not trust his judgement while high. A fatal flaw for anyone.

Once we stopped needing horses to do so much labor they were finally free.

I have followed your exact trajectory on the same timeline and I am coming to the same conclusionsβ€”so well put. That doesn’t mean much coming from me except I personally feel a little better than I did a few minutes ago. My main hang up is: I need this to be true, and so I may be unreliable.

Logistics stocks get spooked by a penny-stock AI pitch (RIME:NASDAQ) AI automation fears hit logistics stocks as C.H. Robinson, XPO and Old Dominion slide after Algorhythm claims 300–400% productivity gains.

Unfortunately (?) they got beat to the punch on the logistics scare trade by, uh, a karaoke company.

I don’t understand the point of this thread. I made it because I want agents I use to be able to write prose that I find more pleasant when I have to read it. I was not being coy. It was lazily derived from a Wikipedia page. It doesn’t work that well. I did not open Pandora’s box.

To help agents write prose that doesn’t sound like it was written by an LLM.

I have released a new Claude Code plugin with an accompanying Agent Skill: Writing Prose Like a Human for Agents.

It reverse-engineers Wikipedia's 'Signs of AI Writing' into a comprehensive guide for agents to avoid common LLM-isms in prose.

Even the most tapped-in professors I follow on here do not engage with why they have students.

The thing that will prevent universities from meaningfully anticipating the existential impact and threat of AI to them is that professors refuse to acknowledge that, in the United States, a university education is a government-subsidized job certification program for knowledge work.

At what threshold of utility does one need to consider what is even the point of evaluating student performance? For example, if you’re a computer science professor, none of your students will end up being employed in the industry, so who cares?

As someone in Seattle: β€œis it going to rain in the next hour” / β€œwhen will it stop” remains the only thing about the weather that matters to me. Apple Weather does that fine now.

It would be useful for many people to spend a weekend trying to get a model to talk like these bots. It might turn the temperature down in here a bit. GPT-4o can happen to anyone.

A couple days ago Elon said, paraphrasing: by the end of 2026 agents will be directly creating binaries that are more efficient than any compiler can produce. Great minds, etc.
